Princess Masako of Japan is also quite beautiful in a very elegant, understated way. I like the fact that she's not the in-your-face types but someone who comes across as very intriguing and 'exotic' in the best possible sense of the word.
I have attached a picture of the maharani of jaipur,Gayatri devi and I hope its in accordance with the rules and regulations as its the first time i'm posting a pic on TRF

Yeah I have to agree with you about the presence of some conservative behaviour in SE Asia. Although I must also tell you that attitudes are changing and changing very fast(especially in India). Whether its a good or bad thing only time will tell.Anywayz getting back to the topic,I'm glad someone shares the same ideas of beauty with me.Cheers!

In America, where being politically correct, meaning not to offend anyone in anyway, for fear of being labeled a bigot, the term "Orient" or "Oriental" is considered offensive. Hi ! I am agree with everyone i know how beautiful and oriental of your belove queen, I was determined that the beutiful and all the queen are pretty, I am agree "Kayatri Devi "is beautiful, anyway who has the Indian concept like the former queen of Cambodia "Indradevi ".
I think we must agree in this Season, i am not bother if i share something about the rootine i mean aseans people i think are effected by chinese, anyway in the complex culturral like these want to respond to somebody have these same kind of feelling, even you're from America, Europe or Asian because there're alotof our people living overthere too.
I think Sirindhorn the Siamese princess of Thailand.

In Germany, "Orient" is never used for the Far East, only for the Middle East. It really also includes North-Africa. If anything, it is less offensive then "Middle East". If you hear the word, you think about Thousand-and-one-night, etc.
I think in France and in other countries it is used the same way, very unpolitical. The thread starter probably meant it this way, too since he\she only include "middle eastern" royals and no "far eastern" ones.

NONE of these are orientals! These are middle-easterners and Arabs.

Oriental also does not means Asian.

Orientals are those from China, Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, Korea and Japan. Of these only Japan has reigning royal house so only Masako in the running and she is not a royal but I guess it still counts since she married the Crown Prince of Japan.

Asians are those from South East Asia ie Malaysia, Brunei, Singapore, Philippines, Indonesia, India, Pakistan, Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia. Of these, only Malaysia, Brunei, Thailand and Cambodia have reigning royal houses. Again Asians are also not Orientals.

From the MENA region - Sheikha Mozah of Qatar (used to be Queen Rania but all that plastic surgery has her looking )

From the Far East - in her youth, Queen Sirikit would be ahead of the entire field...by miles. She was stunning and IMO outshined Queen Paola during that time. Now I would say Zara Salim Davidson, the wife of the Crown Prince of Perak in Malaysia. Beautiful, elegant, and at least in pictures has a very sweet quality.

You are right about the English term " oriental" but some European languages use the term "oriental" to talk about the middle east and North Africa. China, Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, Korea and Japan are called East Asia or the Far East. I think that is where the confusion comes from.
There are even some differences between British English and American English. (They might think of someone from f. i. India vs somebody from Japan if hearing the term "Asian")

If you yo search for oriental in google images you see that mostly pictures from the far east will appear:
http://www.google.com/images?q=orien...N&hl=en&tab=wi

If you look for orientalisch (German) or orientale (French) mostly middle eastern/ thousend- and one night stuff appears
orientalisch - Google Search

orientale - Google Search

BtW this is also why the orient express and oriental rugs are called this way in English.

Princess Noor and Iman Pahlavi. Princess Noor has a perfect Persian beauty, I love her beautiful eyes and her eyebrows, meanwhile, Princess Iman looks like a younger version of their grandmother, the Ex Empress Farah Pahlavi of Iran.
