While Diana wasn't necesarily strictly speaking <the> most beautiful (long, not so straight nose for example, thin lips), she was, by far, THE most luminous of the bunch. Rivaled only by Grace of Monaco. The current crop of ladies can't hold a candle to these two, they wish!

Princess Grace is the most beautiful, rivaled only by her equally beautiful granddaughter Charlotte!

It seems to me that the Princess of Asturias is recognized as the very beautiful woman that she is. Particulary en this time, just after to have given birth to the Infanta Sofia. She is totally glowing.

What ? I can't believe Mary and Letizia are in the lead !
Both women are beautiful, but more beautiful than Queen Rania and Diana ? I don't think so ..
This is only my opinion of course.

I agree with a part of what you've said . To compare Rania and Mary is, to me, fairy impossible . They're just not on the same level : Rania is a stunning beauty with so regular facial features, while Mary is just common, nothing beautiful in her, maybe just lovely .
Whereas Letizia can be compared with Rania : not so beautiful, but not far, with her beautiful eyes and smile .
As for Princess Diana, I know, beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, but I've never found her beautiful, maybe even less beautiful than Mary, with her long nose and her (I'm sorry to say it) not so intelligent look ...

But it's only my humble opinion .

Just because Diana had a long nose doesen't mean that she isn't beautiful Anita. And compared to Diana Mary looks quite plain looking.

I know what you mean. In my opinion, the true beauties on the list are:
Grace
Charlotte
Caroline
Rania
Madeleine
Noor

I think Latezia and Matilde are both very pretty! Mary like Diana is very photogenic. Both ladies have a lot of presence. Mary is the most elegant and sophisticated of the new crown princesses, always well put together, but not a beauty. Just an opinion, and off course, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

I think the most beautiful royal is Princess Madeleine and next is Princess Letizia who I also see as very intelligent.

I agree. I´ve never considered Diana to be a classic beauty or anything. it has nothing to do with her personality though. Letizia i don´t really see as being th most beautiful either and it surprised me that she beat both Rania and Grace whom i consider being the most beautiful of these royals. especially Grace who really was the symbol of beauty and elegance and also seemed to have a very nice personality. she reminds me a bit of maxima (don´t know why though)

Princess Aimee! I know she isn't a "major" royal, but I think she is the best of the bunch...

If you put all these beauties together you could see there is only one beauty; Princess Grace of Monaco!!!

I agree Mary is very pretty, elegant and as you said always well put together, but then again that doesn't make her a beauty like Charlotte, Rania or Caroline. Somehow I never found Grace very beautiful. Her face structures were very harmonic, almost perfect, but in my book perfection isn't beauty.

About Letizia, I don't think she A is beauty, but probably the most beautiful of the current crown princess'. I know it can sound weird, beautiful but not a beauty, but that's how I feel. Mathilde is so ordinary, so Mette-Marit. Maxima is a pretty girl, with a beautiful smile, no more than that.

IMO.

Queen Margrethe II, Queen Beatrix, Queen Sofía, Queen Elizabeth II, Queen Fabiola, Queen Paola are all full blueblooded ladies.

They happen to be a beautifil lady or not a beautiful lady. This is not important at all. An ugly Amalia is still the future Queen. A Doña Leonor with only one leg is still the future Queen. It does not matter if royal ladies do have wrinkles, freckles, being overweighed or whatever. Or have rotten teeth like the late Queen-Mom. Or are always walking with Dame Edna-glasses like the late Queen Juliana.

People watching the looks of royal ladies are narrowing the institute of monarchy with a beauty contest.

Well it does happen to be of importance in this particular thread
Quote:
The Gracia who lived in the late 1960's, the 1970's and until her death was essentially a deeply unhappy and overweighed alcoholic adulteress.
And before that she was a gorgeous, rather unhappy female philanderer with a taste for married men.

Runners-up:

Teenage Charlotte: when she was 14-16 she would take my breath away: classic mediterranean stunner. Her bone structure has changed in the past years (her face is not 'rounder'), and I now find her face not as striking as before. That and the fact that she has lost her sartorial elegance to trendiness. She is still a pretty girl though.

Post surgery Rania: I am not against plastic surgery if used wisely and tastefully, as Rania did. She also knows how to apply her make-up advantageously. However she would not win a contest for natural beauty.

Diana: she certainly wasn't a classic beauty but could make the World believe she was one by the sheer force of her charisma. To be put in the same category as Eva Peron and Jackie Kennedy.

Winner:

Mary : I am the first one to admit that her features are plain, that there are ten thousand more beautiful women down the street, and that before her CP transformation I would not have given her a second look.
Yet, she is the only princess who always make me stop and stare in admiration.
Living proof that you don't need to be beautiful to be stunning.

I don't understand what's going on here. Everybody has their own perception of what is beautiful.
I wouldn't say that any royal lady is 'beautiful'. Queen Rania is pretty, as is Letizia in my opinion, because they have striking looks. Mary is nice, her skin is particularly lovely, but she, as most others is not beautiful.

But it is interesting to read what others think

When we say beauty, I take it we mean physical appearance. Off course we will have different definition as to why one is considered beautiful, but I don't get why we're talking about old, adulturess, alcoholics. None of this has anything to do with it. Everyone will get old eventually and can make bad decisions or be sick, that has nothing to do with how they look. imo.

That I agreee with, especially the last sentence. Even though she isn't beautiful, she is something special.

Look at these pictures for example.
