Flattering dress, square neck is great on her. Love her hair this way, still long but back from the face so we can see her face, jewelry and neckline.

The Kate Middleton effect: Today was the senior graduation for my son's service group "Jack and Jill". All African-American teens. There were 12 girls 6 in white lace dresses similar to DOC and all the girls were in nude high heels. I said to one of the girls "you have the dress and shoes like Duchess Kate"-she said I know and gave me the biggest smile. I guess every girl wants to be a Princess.
When I went to Nordstrom's yesterday racks of white lace and yellow dresses.

This beautiful blue dress will be the next big hit.

:previous: Erm . . . we're heading into winter in the Southern Hemsiphere.

and indeed it looks quite comfortable in Oz, although I wonder if the 'slip slap' thing is still necessary as the sun looks still quite bright. I fear for the Duke and Duchess' skin and am looking for lobster-like symptoms! I am somewhat dismayed that they are not wearing sun hats but imagine this has been discussed with local authorities with a view to the royal couple's visibility!:flowers::cool:

Kate's wearing an Alexander McQueen coat and Jane Taylor hat, for Easter Service. I'm not sure how I feel about the coat. There's something about the front closure that looks a little odd. Having said that, I do love the color and think the hat is really pretty.

I love the outfit she wore to church this morning. Everything worked well together. All in all very smart! I think that hairdo is a good compromise. She still has it long but it's back off her face so she's not tempted to fiddle with it, and you can also see her neckline and earrings, and her face. Top marks, Kate! :star::star::star:

Also nice to see William wearing charcoal suits in Oz and not those blue ones he seemed to favour across the ditch.

I agree, the top closure is a bit odd. But the rest of the look nails it! Bravo, again, Kate!

Loving the church outfit. Really glad that in the last few days Kate has found the compromise between keeping her hair down but it not flying in her face. She has a beautiful face and with her hair a bit further back you can see it better.

Totally love the church outfit love the colour and the collar gorgeous and again hair back off face it's a miracle 2 days in row

The Duchess of Cambridge's Daytime Fashion Part 13: April 2014 -

Really love this outfit. Best hat/ hair combination I have seen from Kate for sometime. I love the contrasting simple uncluttered line of the coat. This shade also suits her. 10/10 from me - even without the Wattle brooch.

I like the coat, the fascinator thing is a pathetic excuse for a hat. She needs to start wearing something proper on her head.

I love it and the hat . . . (is there a drooling smilie?) it is fantastic and, no, it is not a fascinator, it is an honest to goodness 'hat'. She has really nailed the pared down look but that doesn't mean we wouldn't have admired a truely drool worthy brooch . . . it didn't have to be the Wattle but we would have bravely soldiered on if it had been. :D

Catherine seems to be absolutely charmed by the resurgence of broderie anglaise and Ihave to admit I like the pattern of the fabric as well as it's soft lemon colour but oh dear, it was back to hair curtains and wedge sandals again.

I love both outfits, church and the dress at the zoo, very pretty, apart from Wedge alert, of course. Its the same ugly sandals as used on the beach.

Apparently the "Kate effect" (when all the dresses sell out online in minutes) is caused by 'investors' who purchase all the dresses and re-sell them on ebay for nice profits. Perhaps the designer doesn't want a run on her website like that?

Or him! ;)
I understand the designer's want not to be known, however don't sell or give a dress to The Duchess of Cambridge when on tour if you don't want to be known. Someone is going to find out who made that dress and tell someone who will tweet or whatever.

This is a recycled dress from 2012 tour from the arrival to the Solomon Islands but this time Kate has removed the belt :) I believe at the time, the designer was not mentioned.

The Alexander McQueen coat is lovely and a lovely fit but it's rather boring. Looks like something the mother of the bride would wear. Moreover, She has this coat in a burgundy which she wore to church for Christmas in 2011, Why not just wear that. The fascinator is useless and sits wrong, I don't get why it covers half her eyebrow.

The hello dress is nice but not sure if I like it for a zoo visit.

When Catherine wore the pale yellow dress before, it was labeled as by an "Independent Dress Maker". You would think he/she would want his/her name out there.

Apparently it was from an independent Soloman Islands designer.

Well with the space between the the two outings they still don't know who designed it, so I am guessing they never will unless said designer puts their hand up.

Well, I am guessing Catherine really likes the clean-cut lines of this coat and so has two. Christmas is Winter so I imagine the coat is a little warmer than this summer stunner. As to the hat, and it is indeed a hat and not a fascinator, and they are not meant to be nailed to the forehead like an odd shaped satellite dish. It is in fact a tasty treat . . .

Cambridges Celebrate Easter | Royal Hats

Quite the nicest ensemble/hat matches Catherine has made and the hat itself is truly a work of art. Okay, I'm drooling so I have to go now!

PS: Lovely to see that Catherine carried a sweet little clutch to church. It matched the elegant matching court shoes . . . yeaaa she did not wear the LK Bennett nude platform nasties!!

Well spotted. I much prefer it in this color though - a burgundy outfit would be too dark/heavy for Easter Sunday. I think the hat (it seems more substantial than a fascinator to me, at least from the front view) frames her face beautifully. Guess we all like different things:flowers:

Love the blue dress she had on getting off the plane at Canburra ...and the dress she wore for Easter services. The yellow eyelet is very pretty as well. I can't even talk about the wedge ...I try to not even look at her feet at this point.

I love the gray coat and hat/fascinator (I'm American. I don't know the difference). The simple lines are very elegant and slimming--not that she needs anything slimming. The color is terrific on her and suited to the occasion. I also loved the earrings.

I also liked the blue arrival dress. We know William likes blue and I wonder if George does too. I used to show my kids two shirts and see which one they pointed to or tried to grab. I found that it was a lot easier to get them dressed if I let them make that choice, even at 8 or 9 months. I wonder if other parents have the same experience.

I am not as crazy about the yellow dress at the zoo. I think it was the fit at the waistline. As we discussed upthread, Catherine buys off the rack so the fit may not be perfect. I think that is more noticeable with a pleated skirt.

Yep she has that recurring issue with some dresses being too short for her torso and in turn a hair short for her leg which throws the whole look off.

Perfect attire for a perfect Princess! Please keep going like this Your Highness!

I really like the dove grey coat and dress. very suitable for such an important religious occasion. It is the same style as the burgundy coat worn for her 1st Sandringham visit but it Is not the same coat in a different colour. The grey is Alexander Mc Queen, and the should "peaks" give that away immediately.

The burgundy coat was the first time an 'independent designer' was mentioned. the yellow eyelet is the 2nd. Some press have speculated that it is Catherine who is the designer. We'll never know. The yellow is not by a south seas dress maker. That I think refers to the pink/blue local dress she wore.

I think the yellow dress is appropriate for a trip to the zoo with the family and no worries if either baby or animals cause any damage! I liked the dress the 1st time round except the sleeves, which I think were too wide.

The Blue Stella McCartney is a lovely dress and similar in style to the LKB poppies dress and the one worn on arrival in Sydney.

I love that shape on her. Liking her wardrobe on this trip

Gorgeous outfit, but I think the perfect finish would be a pin or something on the coat.

And I am guessing that The Duchess of Cornwall sees a certain familiarity in the design. If intended, that's a nice belated anniversary remembrance. If not, Catherine still looks spectacular.

I'm loving the easter mass outfit. Truly elegant.
I'm normally not a fan of the little hat / fascinator things. But this one, I like. It's not covering half of her face.

I also like the white blue poppy look and the blue outfit for arriving in Canberra.
The sleek skirt/dress look is my favourite for Kate.
