Queen Silvia’s gown at the ‘Day After’ Nobel Palace dinner is a Jacques Zehnder design from 2001, made of a gold embroidered lace overlay on pale yellow silk satin.
The back of the dress is interesting as it has a wrap-around cut, opening to a deep slit in the skirt under a large flower ornament sitting in the lower back, and finishing in a short train.

The dress and especially its cut is astonishing. Such a dress is designated exclusively for a royal ceremony like this as it is to display sophistication and grace. I do like the back wrap-around cut and the short tail as a longer one wouldn't be neccesary for this dress which is Silvia's embellishment itself.

That " after Nobel" dress is stunning- kind of like Queen Sonja's Spain dress without the " wedding cake" effect. Maybe Queen Silvia and Crown Princess Victoria could give Sonja a few pointers!

It's a beautiful and regal gown. Perhaps not as majestical as the emerald green gown, but still very beautiful. I like this colour on Q Silvia!

Silvia looked smashing in the green dress, totally regal looking.
The form~fitting white & goldish dress is sleek and modern looking.
Both were good choices!

Swedish magazine 'Svensk Dam Tidning' has a poll with picture special to vote for Queen Silvia's best Nobel gown from the past five years (from google in English):

The yellow/golden gown is definitely what one expects to see on a Queen, but the emerald green gown, apart from regal, was more glamorous and splendid. I chose to call it 'majestical', I thought it included all the above (regal, glamorous, stunning etc.).

You've got very good eyesight, Humera. Indeed, the bottom part is dirty, due to the dirty ground maybe the fact that someone could have stepped on it by accident.
I agree, the hair looks a bit weird from the back site but much better when looking at it from behind.

Don't think the train of the dress got dirty.
If you look at the full picture, you can see that the colors are quite wrong and that the lighting in the gallery is weird; the green silk satin is shiny and reflects it:

Fascinating to notice in the view of the hairdo from the back that there is a lot of 'contruction' going on underneath the Leuchtenberg sapphire tiara, in order to keep it in place in the open hair.

As usual with Zehnder’s best gowns, there is not a single seam visible, neither in the transparent overlay nor in the silk gown underneath.

Thanks for the pic that show the details of the dress. The detailing is quite exquisite. I didn't realize it had a transparent overlay. It's really lovely. Her gold shoes and the bag are nice as well.

Queen Silvia at the Estonian State Visit, 18-01-2011

I don't like the outfit at all., especially the blouse, trousers and shoes. Wearing this fur cap (in the room) doesn't fit either imo...

One of the worst outfits I have ever seen Queen Silvia in.
Carelessly thrown together, the styles of the different pieces don't match, and is she really wearing coulottes, one of the worst items ever made for women to wear...?
The jacket (seems to be a Carolina Herrera design) is actually nice, but useless in this combination.
Estonian First Lady Evelin Ilves looks fairly ridiculous in her odd garments, which unfortunately makes for two badly dressed ladies today.
Things can only improve for the state banquet tonight.
Btw., during state visits to Sweden the ladies always keep their hats on for the group picture in the Palace following the arrival ceremony.
