The color is lovely, but not the dress itself.

I don't think the suit fits well; the color and print blouse are attractive but the blouse looks odd around the neckline.

Lina RdC thanks a lot. Queen Paola recycles a 10 years old outfit !

:previous:A very nice combination - I especially like the scarf and the jacket!
Me too! All separate pieces are really tasteful i.m.o., yet this combination -including Queen Paola's jewelry- looks extremely busy altogether, featuring various patterns viz. designs (horizontally nested top, jacket with zigzag structures, scarf with flower print, long necklace plus ornamented diamond earrings)... In any case, I have a soft spot for Paola wearing zigzag garments -she manages to appear elegant and rather cool at once;).
Today, May 15, Queen Paola was in Melsele wearing a nice combination of pink and black:

The queen is just perfectly dressed for the occasion! I always loved those fancy strawberry earrings which define her whole outfit here. Paola has smartly chosen two unichrome, nicely contrasting pieces while abstracting the little strawberry "dots" in order to gather them as pearls around her neck.

On June 2, 2012 Queen Paola was present at the pre-celebrations of Princess Astrid's 50th birthday (June 5) recycling her May 8 outfit http://www.theroyalforums.com/forums/f63/queen-paolas-fashion-and-style-part-1-november-2003-a-1159-14.html#post1409113:

Finally, we get a better glimpse of Paola's interesting looking necklaces -could these mint coloured stones be larimars?

I think the look would have been better if the skirt was the same color as the top. That is a lovely shade on her.

We don’t see the Queen very often but she is wearing actually to narrow clothes.

.

Queen Paola visiting organizations in Mariakerke today, June 8, wearing pants and a nice top and jacket combination
(recycled I think). I like the colour combination of the top/jacket with the jewellery.

It is the Jacket and top she wore for Prince Astrid’s Birthday an for an other event before.
Great but to narrow.
The Queen recycles a lot Princess Mathilde should to the same !

On June 7, 2012 Queen Paola visited the "Concertgebouw" in Bruges that celebrates its 10th anniversary this year:

The “chocolate (garments) and vanilla (hair colour viz. complexion) strategy” always works fine on her. I like that wavy blouse exhibiting different patterns inside and outside. Moreover, Paola's body-hugging skirt has a good cut. Her eyes are beyond beautiful i.m.o. (I know I’m repeating myself), including the lashes which definitely need additional care, that is to say: more mascara. The queen could take a leaf out of Princess Claire’s book :)

What a fantastic evening outfit for the queen! I particularly love her dark cyan jacket with its elegant silky geometric structures as well as that marvellous emerald necklace albeit I would have preferred a lighter and more delicate skirt in combination. Besides, Paola should have chosen emerald earrings (e.g. this nice pair APA-PictureDesk) instead of her beloved pearls here i.m.o..

We know her dressy jacket e.g. from one of the New Year's receptions in 2011: APA-PictureDesk

I've always liked that jacket!

Today, June 20, Queen Paola attended a reception for ambassadors at the Royal Castle in Laeken and wore one of her typical combinations - the necklace is a good and necessary blur of colour here:

Thank you for posting a close-up photo of Queen Paola's dark cyan jacket which I already admired on June 12 :flowers:. Now, I'm even more impressed by that gorgeous looking fabric. Besides, I share your opinion on "a good and necessary blur of colour", yet I would have preferred the more sophisticated coral jewelry set from June 8 http://1.nieuwsbladcdn.be/Assets/Images_Upload/2012/06/08/03322190.jpg.h600.jpg here.

On July 19, 2012 Queen Paola attended the inauguration of the exhibition "Science and Culture at the Royal Palace" at the Royal Palace in Brussels, recycling her chic, expressive dress from Belgium's National Day in 2011 http://cache.daylife.com/imageserve/0dE483ieyC04j/x610.jpg, now wearing a multiple-row peridot(?) necklace:

That's an interesting design on the jacket. However, I am not liking the look.

Queen Paola looks very nice here, conservative but with an original twist in the jacket design; besides, she is one of the few ladies in her age group who can wear this shade of grey without an ageing side effect, it suits her coloring.

She does look stunning. That shade of green is gorgeous. Only, I don't like the hat.

I think she looks wonderful. I even like her hat.. She has the panache to pull it off and it gives her outfit a bit of a fun touch! She is a very chic and youthful-looking queen.

Queen Paola has so much natural style! Cute picture of the King and Queen together.

As for me, Paola’s new(?) Tahitian pearl necklace was the most remarkable item here –I had nearly suspected her of disliking black pearl jewelry which would have been kind of “tragic” because Tahitians exceedingly flatter ladies with light-coloured hair i.m.o.. From now on, the queen has merited “Pearlina” viz. “Perlina” in Italian as alternative term of endearment to the common affectionate form “Paolina”:D.

On July 21, Queen Paola appeared much more like a ravishing, dreamy fairy tale queen http://portfolio.soirmag.lesoir.be/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=239555&g2_serialNumber=2 than like an ordinary human being from this world. Her hat somehow reminded me of those elaborate braided or twisted hairstyles in her younger days whereas the fractionally translucent coat http://s4.concentra.be/imgpath/000/000/444/588/id444588-960x700-n.jpg kept up with the gorgeous looking dark cyan jacket from June 12 and 20.

A fresh and elegant look with dots at the celebrations for the 20th anniversary of Queen Paola's foundation yesterday, September 2, 2012.

:previous:This outfit by itself doesn’t rank among Queen Paola’s most exciting garments i.m.o., nevertheless Her Majesty (a highly creative and tasteful woman) succeeds in increasing its value with the aid of distinguished jewelry http://portfolio.lesoir.be/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=765910&g2_serialNumber=2 and her current tan from the holidays APA-PictureDesk :D (Paola’s usual fair vanilla complexion wouldn’t have provided such a nice contrast). That massive gold necklace featuring different gemstone spheres looks particularly breathtaking.

Very smart looking outfit. Love the scarf and purple belt! Her necklace also gives it that special touch..

:previous:I completely agree, udyusa! Queen Paola skillfully manages to integrate virtually all colder shades (from lilac ones over blue till cyan and emerald green) into her geometrically delightful outfit viz. jewelry. Albeit I lack in an exact reasoning, I think that she is a "shawl woman", looking brilliant in whatever kind of shawl (whether queenly noble, fancy or just cozy).
