Her majesty can pretty much get away with anything. She likes big and dramatic and she's the only one who can pull if off.

That's a really large red shawl to drape over her shoulder.

Billed-Bladet - Mary smuk som svigermor - se sammenligningen!
An article comparing the style of Margrethe and Mary.
Margrethe did have some wonderful clothes when she was younger.

I partularly like the fact that she draws a very descernable difference between her "Evening Dresses" and her "Gala Gowns". When she is "On Parade" so to speak, she get's out the heavy artillery from her jewellry box and don's an appropriately grand gown. They are breathtaking in their style, colour and grandeur. Some of them would give the young Queen Victoria or even a young Queen Elizabeth II a run for their money.
In the parlance of today . . . . she rocks!

Queen Margrethe like most artists has a very keen sense for the unique and she transfers that in her outfits.
There is always a bit of the dramatic, outlandish and peculiar but she always pulls it off.

I have always liked the bright colours, they make our life brighter and more cheerful.
I think Queen Margrethe have the similar views, the second dress is so gorgeous, Queen is very beautiful in it.
The third dress is neat, this kind of style is in vogue, Queen's waist is so tiny!!
An elegant Queen Margrethe :

I just love the colours she wears . . . . . the colourful umberella and especially her fabulous yellow raincoat. Anyone can have a raincoat but I have never seen one like her's, not in any of the the shops or magazines. Teriffic

The Queen is an extremely beautiful and it carries on with her wardrobe. Although some are more colorful than others but she pulls it off.

She does look like she is having a ball, but do I spy gumboots, albeit very trendy ones?

The outfit Queen Margrethe wore on the opening of the parliament does absolutely not suit her. It makes her a lot older:
