Not a good look, and that shirt is going to be really hard to pull off, unless with a pencil skirt or with slim pants, IMO.

The top reminds me of one of those smocks they put on you at the salon, at least the fabric does.

.

Máxima attended a lesson for pupils as part of the Money Week 2015 in Amsterdam, today, Mach 13, wearing a black top (maybe silk) and black pants.

I neither like the tucks of the shirt nor the combination with those crease pants.

a total mess as outfit the top looks bigger on her,the big jewelery are quit silly and the shoes can not be pretty on anyone.

Maxima looks great in black, but I'm not a fan of this outfit. The top is a bit strange, and I think the shoes make the whole look come across as a bit "clunky" (or "frumpy"?). Her hair also looks a little unkempt here.

Black is normally very flattering on most people, but this outfit looks very strange indeed! I very rarely dislike Maxima's clothes.....perhaps gold might have been better

Lately I feel like Maxima used to dress better before she was Queen :ermm:

Oh my goodness what on earth is that ... black .. outfit ... it is too ... something I am speechless .... really I am sitting here and I am saying nothing.

Don't especially like this but the shoes make it even worse - they just don't go.

Not at all. Nothing has changed, as the Queen herself stated, she would just going on and indeed, as so often, when it are low key events with low protocol, the Queen will arrive as casual as possible. That is almost always in her function as Patroness of the Orange Fund (her wedding gift), as member of the UN Secretary-General's advisory board on inclusive finances and when it is about her "pet topic" as economist: sustainable finances.

In all other cases when she is really there as the Queen (openings, remembrances, escorting the King, official and state visits, protocollary events) she really dresses up.

Official Visit to a region in North-East Netherlands

Visit to a primary school in Capelle aan den IJssel

Visit to a conference in London

Visiting the Residence Orchestra in The Hague

With the President of South Korea

Los Reyes are in her house

Leaving a symposium about domestic violence

And hop... low key... and indeed: it is a conference on substantial finances

Opening an exhibition

Waving from a balcony

With the King in Maastricht

Très féminin!

Brother is going to tie the knot...

:flowers:

In general we can say that -as only one of the young Queens- Máxima consequently dresses up with hats, gloves, bijoux, hofdames and aides-de-camp in her slipstream. And yes... she suddenly goes way 'down' at the other side of the spectrum when it is all not that official. Maybe that is the reason of her immense popularity: being a glorious Queen when needed, being an approachable and touchable lady-next-door so now and then.

March 17, 2015 - Maxima arriving in Denmark on the start of the State visit to Denmark.

Love the coat but don't like the slits in the sleeves. Nevertheless, its a lovely look.

Excellent choice,by Dutch-Danish designer Claes Iversen!

Oh I love this coat.

What a nice and well-thought tribute to Denmark, to wear Danish fashion by Danish designer Claes Iversen...

The Queen looked ab-fab. I would not mind the Queen to swap Natan for Iversen...

Oh wow! What a clever and beautiful design - a nod to the cross on the Dannebrog I wonder? I've not seen a coat like it before and the sleeves remind me of the sort that Beatrix has worn before.

Queen Maxima looked beautiful today in Denmark, the coat is very interesting.

In the minority here, but what on earth? Disliked it.

The designer is Danish indeed but has been living in The Netherlands since 1998. His atelier is on the Herengracht here in Amsterdam. So a very suitable choice.

I am not sure what to think of the coat though I hate it and I love it at the same time. The quality seems much superior to Natan though. I hope she will use Iversen's designs more often. What I am sure about is that I dislike the open shoes.

This is a really interesting coat...I like it. The dress underneath was nice, but a little boring. I have to agree about the shoes. I'm not a fan of the style or color.

Well, then you can join me, because I'm not a fan of this look, or more specifically the pattern on the coat. It doesn't work for me.

I loved Queen Maxima's look today. Very chic, but not overdone, but with something just a little "extra". The pattern work on the coat is gorgeous and the dress underneath is very nice. I'm not sure about the open toed shoes though, don't know why that's bothering me. All-in-all, great outfit today.

For State Visits, higher in protocol is not possible, the image is important, more important than whether a dress or coat is nice or not nice. Here the image of Queen Máxima certainly is that of a stately lady with a sober appearance which is at the same time very chique thanks to the unusual applications. Definitely no dress from Zara or H&M and very regal.

:flowers:

I didn't know Claes Iversen resides in Amsterdam. Well... an atelier at the chique Herengracht (= the Lords' Canal) even... most suitable for royal clientèle... Leave Natan to the Belgians and the Luxembourgers... go to Iversen, Ma'am...

It's not that I dislike this look but I'm rather underwhelmed by it. I was expecting Maxima to wear something in bold colours. I'm simply not a fan of grey.

But with bold colours one is quickly saturated. This sober design gave possibilities to use ingenious patterns. On the TV news over here it looked sparkly in daylight, making the whole coat quite lively.

I don't like the arrival outfit, it's just so shapeless.

I dislike Queen Maxima's Shoes but likes Princess Mary's Louboutin high heels.

I'm not a fan of Maxima's look either. I like how it's from a Danish designer as that is a thoughtful gesture, and the colour suits Maxima, but that's about it. It's the cross decorations that ruin the look for me. If this was a plain coat, I would've liked it.
