Wonderful posture in the side view photo. (Kate could learn a few tips. Including how to carry a clutch bag ?)

That's a very beautiful black dress. She looks great.

There's a special way to carry a clutch?

The black dress is okay. I find it a little boring. I love her shoes though and I think her updo is nice.

Fantastic dress and earrings. I would have loved to see one of her diamond bracelets.

Queen Letizia looks smashing..........that is a really cute little black dress with those gorgeous diamond earrings, hair and make-up are perfect as usual. Every inch a beautiful woman and handsome husband at her side, great combo.....

Once again Letizia is stunning, a perfect queen with great posture. Beautiful dress with nice details, great shoes, great make up. And her hairdos are great when she has her hair up. And those gorgeous earrings crown the whole look.

That dress looks navy to me with the black lace trim.

Interesting. I've never heard that a clutch needs to be held loosely at the side. I figure, one would hold a clutch in whatever position they find comfortable.

She looks amazing in that dress, I am not a fan of the color blue, yet that is really nice with the black. And for the most important part, her hubby is getting more gorgeous by the day, wow, I have a crush on him, he is one very handsome man/prince/king all rolled into one and he has a very beautiful wife.....what a couple they are.........:)

I like the black with blue. I guess the dress is from Varela, he used the same style for the Morocco visit

I don't like the neckline at all, there is always something cheap/unfinished about Varela's designs. I wish Letizia would go for a more classy designers at such a high profile event.

i love the overall look of the blue POA gala dress. but what i really love here are the earrings. are they new or have they been in the royal vault for ages?

This is a nice dress but the satin neckline border ruins it and makes it cheap looking. At first I thought this was a knitted dress but it's not. I don't think this is a dress elegant enough or classy enough for such a high profile event. I wish she branches out to other designers, I am sure they can do something much nicer that Varlea. It's also a pity that she has the same lace in a long skirt different color. New ideas are needed. Her hair and make up completed the look.

Gorgeous dress! She looks wonderful. Love the earrings and hair.

The pointelle/crocheted dress with a blue lining looked absolutely cheap. A plain lace dress would have been a much better choice. The hairstyle and makeup were all right. Are there any classy designers in Spain?

The pink ensemble worn in 2006 was the best one among the mostly unfortunate lace creations by Maison Varela.

I think a scalloped neckline might have been better - thank goodness it was daylight and no flash photography lol

What a figure and what great posture! The black and blue lace dress is great but could have used more on the neckline as she is so slim. Even a necklace would have added some more bulk to the area.

Letizia looked great in the Hugo Boss outfit in the evening. I doubt that anyone could wear that beautiful jacket better and the leather dress is modern and has nice colour. The jacket isn't too businesslike to be worn with the dress in the evening. Together the jacket and dress are a good combination.

I am not usually a fan of leather, but I thought Letizia carried it off well. The jacket was clearly there to soften the overall look, and achieved its objective.

Gorgeous outfit, especially the color of red, the shoes and handbag. Love the way she always carries her hand bag and stands so we can see her outfit. Was she a model before she was on TV? She certainly knows how to use the camera

No matter how well-made it is or who wears it, any leather dress is inappropriate for an official engagement.

IMO this is extremely chic, and perfect for most official DAYTIME events... [not for the very grandest of course].

i'm not so keen on it for evenings however.. i'd prefer a more feminine, softer look for those occasions.

I agree with you about the leather for official engagements. Remember another princess wore once also and didn't like. But having said that, the over all look was great on Letizia. To wear leather properly you must have that extremely thin shape {Kate, Mary or even the late Audrey Hepburn}. Anyone with an inch of fat would look like a sausage roll. I did like Letizia's shoes and purse with the outfit and her makeup perfect.
Actually I would have preferred a steel gray jacket instead of the black.
