I've enjoyed all of the queen's outfits for Christmas. And I just adore her cute boots! I don't think I've seen her wear boots before.

The Queen has worn boots since decades. Remember her light blue coat with WHITE boots when she was younger in the 1960s or 1970s.
In the 1990s, we regularly saw her wearing boots, e.g. when she laid flowers in Dunblane, together with the Princess Royal when schoolchildren were murdered. Last year, in October, she wore high patent leather boots with a white coat and fur; as if she had taken clothes out from grandchild Zara Phillips wardrobe. She is top-classy!!

Before I started watching this board I thought that the Queen rather has a frumpy style. But thats not true! She is a indeed very very stylish and classy woman for her age. I love her style!

^^ I agree. She sometimes put the younger generation to shame.

I love the Queen in this shade of red. Somehow I think it's very suitable for winter.

Its fetching for a lady of her age to be able to carry off such bright colours as well as she does.

In October, The Queen had a blue period; with outfits practically always in blue shade, at the time of the Indian Reception,...
I think she now introduces the red period, the Christmas outfit, some sunday services outfits and RAF Marham visit, all red. I hope she will now change.

And she was wearing alot of pinks around the summer time. She seems to get hooked on certain colours for awhile.
I do like the red on her.

I shudder to think of the size of HM's wardrobe, and how it is organised - by season, colour, matching coats and hats....... Also, given that HM is renowned to be frugal, I wonder how long is it before a dress or suit is actually retired. Any ideas?

I have no idea how long muriel. Probably not as long as Princess Anne wears her clothes though. I can't even imagine the size of HM wardrobe. I've heard she stores her wardrobe in the basements of Buckingham Palace. Don't know if it's true or not.

Wonderful outfit, she's still keeping with the red theme.

Its quite possible that clothing is stored in the basement or in lofts. No doubt it will be carefully organised though!

And still wearing her cute boots despite that there's no snow. Perhaps she has grown fond of them.

On the subject of how long the Queen keeps her clothes in circulation for, it seems to be about three years for an outfit - some obviously get worn a lot more (for instance the blue tweed outfit we saw a lot of last year) but nothing gets just one wear before getting binned. And I think everything she has ever work is kept, after all there have been exhibitions of her dresses and hats going back decades, so they are obviously all kept in tip top condition. If all the Queens have done that, there must be miles of racks in the vaults of BP!
