I'm with you on that belt, HP! I think she also wore it on another occasion with a black coat, and I didn't care for it then either. She and Dave appear to be going to two different events...

Egads! Color is beautiful but please someone tell that girl that style does not flatter her!

LaRae

I'm not sure what to think. I believe I need to get over the shock first. What on God's green earth is she thinking? This young lady needs help with her wardrobe choices.

Good grief. My thoughts exactly, LadyG. I could not have said it better.

Wonder what the York girls will wear to Pelly's wedding?
Beatrice was seen with a large hat box...could it be?

Here's a photo of Eugenie's dress, she wasn't shown in the Us Weekly article:

Eugenie

I think it's unflattering, although the colour is great. Beatrice looks nice, the outfit suits her.

I think they both look awful. All that money buys very little in tasteful clothes.

 Will someone please introduce Beatrice and Eugenie to Gok Wan, and quickly! Beatrice has lost all that weight and would look fabulous in just about anything.......except that outfit. Why would she wear that outfit? Did she raid her mother's wardrobe? And Eugenie needs to be told that if she wants to wear bright, figure hugging clothes like that she would do well to lose a bit of weight. She also needs to allow someone else do her hair; I think she cuts it herself, too. It doesn't look she's washed it for days, either. They both look a mess and Cressida looks great. Maybe the York girls did it for a joke to make Cressie shine.

Given their record, I doubt this.

They do have their mother's fashion sense. I sometimes wonder if the family braces themselves when they hear their footsteps coming down the hall before some public event.

Actually I take back what I said about Beatrice's outfit. Except for the fact her handbag and shoes didn't match, the outfit doesn't look so bad in other photos. The one above is taken from a bad angle which makes her look lost in it.

The photos appear to have been taken from a bad angle and while the subjects were on the move - and who knows under what circumstances - so would not be showing these young ladies to their best advantage.
I think it was a private function, not an official engagement? so I guess they can wear what they please :)

So true!
All perfectly said.

I agree with both of the above posts! They both look pathetic and not at all like royal princesses. Such a shame..

Well, Beatrice's purse did match Eugenie's dress.
I suppose if Beatrice had added a statement belt that picked up the color of the purse and a longer more whimsical necklace that matched the style and neckline of the blouse rather than the clunky discordant jewelry she wore, the outfit might have worked.
I think the photos were snapped as they left the Annabel's after party at 3 am - so perhaps they were a bit worse for wear.

Those details would have made all the difference!

That might explain a lot!

:bang: Again what are those girls thinking? They look awful.....PB looks like she raided her grandmother's closet for that skirt and PE, well she needs help, that dress/gown does her no good at all. Given all the money that this family has, how could they let these 2 girls dress the way they do? They are in need of a stylist, somebody that really knows fashion and won't back down when they don't get their own way. They are both very pretty girls, yet they mostly look a mess when they go out.........really frustrating at times.

UGH!

What's with all the hand holding? Comforting each other on their wardrobe choices? :ermm:

I thought that they had a stylist?
I remember reading that Andrew hired one for them after their disastrous outfits at the Royal Wedding.

Evidently the stylist is no longer with them! They sooo desperately need one..and soon!

Wow! So much venom over a couple of pretty ordinary, rather than spectacular, outfits. Okay, everyone is allowed an opinion so mine is that I didn't particularly like either outfits but liked Beatrice's better than Eugenie's. (I actually loved the movement in her skirt, it was a bit of girly nonsense). But, I will never make an issue of any woman's dress size. It is shallow and mean in the extreme and rarely found with such passion on any other thread.

As to the hand-holding? Well, Cressida ventured out (in a pretty gown that was not Boho) with close friends, after a couple of weeks of media hell. If I were her I'd have probably gone to earth and stayed there until Harry had at least found another young woman to escort around and the paps were firmly fixed on them. However, she chose to get by with a little help from her friends. Good for her and good for Beatrice and Eugenie, not to mention their respective boyfriends, for being her having her back.

Thank you - I didn't really like the outfits but I thought the fat-shaming on someone's body size was inappropriate. Hate the outfit if you like and it was not good but not someone's weight. I wouldn't want someone to fat shame and say that about the body/weight of one of my personal family members so I am not going to say it about another young woman who has done nothing wrong but wear a dodgy outfit.

The fashion and general media spends a lot of time making women believe that their body size is wrong and I can't believe TRF is going to start going down the same path.

Venom? Fat-shaming? Come on, now! This is a fashion and style thread. It's here for us to talk about what people wear and how they look. It's all about appearance. If you think Eugenie looks good in that mauve dress, that's fine, but I don't and I'm not afraid to say why. And I'm sure as hell not speaking as a woman who munches on salad leaves for lunch and drinks only water for fear of putting on an extra ounce or so. Like many women, including Eugenie & Beatrice's mother, I have had a struggle with my weight my entire adult life, and I am very aware of what styles suit me and camouflage the parts of me I don't want to emphasise. Different styles and lines can make a huge difference.

Take a look at that photo of Eugenie in that tight dress and tell me you don't see the bulges around her hips and upper arms. Be honest. She chose to wear a dress that highlights her hourglass shape and allows those bulges to show. Sarah does the same thing. That's fine. It's their right. If they have sufficient self-confidence to not squirm when they see photographs of themselves in tight, inappropriate, clothes, good for them. I think they both should choose styles and colours that suit their shape and don't emphasise their weak points. That's my opinion. I'm not saying either of them should lose weight, just that they should choose clothes with lines that elongate and slim the figure, and don't emphasise the bulges. If you want to pull the PC card and denounce me for "fat-shaming", go ahead. I'm not going to feel guilty for what I say and I'm not going to stop stating my opinion.

Frankly, it has nothing to do with size. It has to do with taste. You can be big and beautiful and that is true, you can be skinny and look awful. They look awful and they often do. They have no taste, whomever helps them picks clothes should be fired. Have they no mirrors. It is sad, because a ton of money is being dumped on them looking dumpy. It is not necessary. They can look lovely.

Exactly! Taste is the factor missing here, and since I fear it is inherited things may not change.

In the general scheme of things it doesn't matter, because it's far more important that they seem to be charming, sweet girls. That's far more important than appearance, but this thread is about appearance so these other factors are OT.

Yes this isn't about whether anyone is fat or not, that is not the case here. It is about their taste in clothes and whether they are selecting the right clothes for their body types. I don't believe either girl has had someone come in and actually teach them about this, what colors do and don't look good, what styles to look good and what to avoid, it is sad that they mostly are such a disaster all the time given that they have access to just about anything they want in the fashion world. These aren't teenagers anymore, they are young ladies and are seen at functions with the Queen sometimes, so their parents or someone in the family needs to take them in hands and teach them what is good and isn't good. Besides from the looks on their faces lately none of them are very happy with their lives.....I think they also need a dose of the real world at times.

For starters...If Eugenie's fat, then I'm going to be the next Canadian Ladies Figure Skating Champion. The girl is not fat. Having said that though, she is curvy and by now should have figured out how to dress for her body shape. We keep getting rather sad to downright awful examples in Public that Eugenie just does not know how to dress for her shape and IMO that's downright criminal as she is a genuinely very pretty young lady. For whatever reason though, we keep seeing her in clothes that look like they're at least one dress size too small for her and a wardrobe malfunction only a sneeze away. There's no reason for it either and I just do not get it!!

As for Beatrice, I've noticed the last few years she really has been getting it together style wise. That outfit the other night would have better w/a different top, but who doesn't have Fashion Moments like that from time to time!?! The first person to step forward claiming they don't and been perfectly dressed all the time, more than likely has Florida swampland for sale too.

I think Beatrice has finally got it. As for Eugenie, she's the one who really needs a Fashion Intervention of the two IMO.
