I like this light dress and it looks perfectly on her.

The dress from a distance is not pretty at all, the lining looks quite cheap, too shiny. Close up it doesnt really show which makes the dress look okay. IMO, this would be nice if it was a cocktail dress. Being long does nothing to her figure.

going to a wedding in a white dress?

business as usual with Marie ... a lingerie dress ... the material is shiny and flimsy, low necklace, unkempt hair ...
It's a cheap look and very underdressed compared to Joachim's (and wedding) dress code, white tie.

I think the dress looks too long, and it would look better with strappy heels. I don't really like the top half, it looks too summery-casual (like a camisole). But it's a pretty color and I like the pastel sash.

Yes, its indeed to long and the whole outfit looks untidy. Nevertheless she's a beautiful woman and the colour suits her very much, but for a wedding she really should have chosen another colour IMO.

This dress to me just confirms my opinion is the Marie is not a clothes woman.

She is a beautiful young lady, with a nice figure and clothes just don't appear to be important to her. And that's okay. Not every woman is a clothes horse. She has had a couple of hits News Years event, her wedding, christening outfit) but more misses to me. She looks or feels more comfortable in everday clothing (casual clothes or doing everyday engagements).

This dress does nothing for her. Color washes her out. But she looks happy.

I think that the dress´colour doesn´t look good on her. The dress would be better in a darker colour.

This dress is pretty if your a bridesmaid. Her make up, hair and jewelry or lack of it show me that she really doesn't know how to "show up at an event" If they were there privately I guess it doesn't matter, but if they were there representing the Danish Royals she could have done a little better. I don't expect her to be like Princess Mary(impeccable) but her choices always seem a bit immature IMO. Come on Marie, you are beautiful and a princess!!Like Princess Diana said, dressing is part of 'the job'!Just my opinion, I don't mean to offend!:D

The dress is too bridal, IMO. The shade is gold, not white, but the top layer reminds me of a bridal veil or skirt. Joachim was the best man in the wedding, so that explains why he looks so much more dressed-up than Marie does, but still, this just isn't a good look for her. The dress might have looked a tad bit better if it were knee-length. Her shoes are too thick and clunky for a flowy dress. Strappy might have been better.

i agree, she is the most beautiful at this countryside wedding :flowers:
I think she does not like, how to say... the pompous stilted style
it's very hot in the south of France, she chose the perfect dress to be comfortable
without being smothered by her clothes
really beautiful

The dress would look much better if she wore a wrap with it. It is light salmon from where I sit rather than white.
The outing with the baby and the little doggy is so sweet!

Marie is becoming more and more beautiful and elegant. She has changed so much since her wedding but it's in a good way!

I've looked on Gucci's site (for all European countries and the US), and can't seem to find them. They look like Puma to me, but I'm not sure. I do like her casual style. This is her strong point. She almost always looks great when she's casually dressed.

She does, doesn't she?She looks so young after all, casual clothes are made for her.Don't worry about the shoes,Gucci,Puma, doesn't really matter :flowers::flowers:

Oct 6, 2009 - P.Marie at the opening of parliment in a lovely green coat with a small pillow hat. The hat overall with the outfit doesnt look bad at all. I just think maybe the coat has too much fabric for her petite figure but then that would be the style of the coat.
This is one of Maries best looks IMO.
Make up and hair also look very nicely done.

sorry, not for me. i think it's a horrible look. the coat looks ill-fitted and dated and together with the pillbox hat the outfit would have looked good on an SAS air hostess in 1950, but not on princess marie in 2009 :argh:

too funny duke!! I really liked this green color on Marie. Coat seems too big but its and elegant look for her. Best look for her in a while.

I totally agree!
She really looks like an old fashioned hostess!

I love the coat, the cut really suits Marie. I don´t like the hat and hairdo, though, I think they make the overall to look old-fashioned. The same coat with the hair down and a lovely headpiece would be wonderful ;)

From top to toe, including pillbox hat and color, Marie's outfit is almost an exact copy of a favorite outfit from Queen Silvia - but that was worn in the mid-1980s.
The riding coat tailoring is nice in itself, but on Marie, it just looks too wide and makes her appear small.
The nicest thing about it is the beautiful shade of emerald green.

Hm... my first impression really was: welcome back to the 40s. She looks a bit like one of the Andrew-sisters. However I really like this colour on her. The hat is nice also, but the coat is ill-fitted, makes her looks smaller as well.
