She looked really great. I I like the pattern on her skirt also very much. Its a very elegant outfit, hair and make up are also lovely. But the shoes aren't my cup of tea as well.

I think Letizia looked lovely during the dinner. The skirt and blouse are very beautiful and I even like the shoes: judging by the comments, I'm in minority but I thought they fitted with the general style of her outfit (both somewhat classic and modern).

I like this look, especially the skirt.I'm not sure about the shoes, though :ermm:
Hair & make-up are both perfect one more time :flowers:

I still hope to see Letizia recycling this white dress one day. It looked great on her. I can imagine it would also look great with a Tiara ...
The red dress she wore during her first State Visit also looked gorgeous on her.
I'm also curious how this black dress looks without a jacket.
(bew)

I really wonder why she never recycled any of the dresses...

That white dress is one of my favourite gowns ever worn by Letizia (or any Princess, come to that). The design of the dress is beautiful, especially the lower part. It would indeed look lovely with a tiara.
She looked stunning in the red dress: although I'm not very fond of the particular design, especially the shoulders part, Letizia carried off the look easily. I like that red gown even more than the one she wore for Frederik and Mary's wedding.

I have never seen that white dress before. It is absolutely beautiful! It would look even more incredible with a tiara. This is one dress that she should most definitely recycle.

This red gown looks amazing on Letizia.I hope she recycles it very soon!
I don't know what's wrong with this white dress, maybe the top part.I'm not too fond of it.

The white dress was from WA's 40th birthday.

I believe that the red dress is in fact a combination of the red skirt Letizia wore to one of M&F's prewedding events (the night before?) and the top was worn with a skirt for a gala event in Spain.

I will edit this post later to add pic links, sorry I dont have them right now!

You probably mean this skirt designed by Lorenzo Caprile, which Letizia work to Frederik and Mary's pre-wedding party (image is taken from this blog entry by PrincessofEurope).
I don't think it's the same skirt though - the design looks different.

Could anyone tell me when did Letizia wear this breathtaking red gown? I have a vague feeling the event (gala) was connected with either India, or Pakistan.

That is my favourite dress of all time for Letizia stunning. :flowers:

I have always liked the white dress that Letizia wore at Prince W-A 40th birthday -- most on this board hated it at the time and stated that she was one of the worse dressed to attend (reread the old comments). Now the red gown shown in Her Majesty's post was stunning and probably only Letizia or Mary could have pulled that one off with their slenderness. Was the black dress a maternity gown? Don't remember it.

Winnie - the black dress dates from October 2007, so no maternity dress.
Marsel - you are right, the red dress was worn in April 2009 on the occasion of the gala dinner for the Indian president.
Marmi - I agree with you, I think it's the same skirt, only comes across as a different colour in different light conditions.

I think many people agree that this was Letizia's best look ever in terms of gala wear:

the only thing that I found odd about the design is the over-the-top bust, too much for such a slender woman (you'll only notice on side view)

I think I am the very few people who really doesnt like this dress, I think this was one of her worst looks. I dont know what it was, the sheer sleeves that made her arms look too thin and muscular or was it the bustier part or the cut which was not flattering, I really dont know. The shade of red was more of an orange

why she has never recycle this red dress

I think this dress is the best from Princess Letizia's fashion wardrobe.:previous:

No, she wore it for a Gala Dinner for the opening of Museo del Prado in October 2007.

Sometimes I wonder if the white dress might have been just a loan or something... If it wasn't: the dress is too nice to just gather dust in a large wardrobe. ;)
Letizia could retire some of her old dresses (maybe the silver one she wore so often.. and that has been altered again and again) and wear this one instead.
Well, and if the dress doesn't look good with a sash she could wear it for other formal dinners or whatever. :)

This is my favorite gown worn by Letizia followed by the green gon she wore during the State Visit with Russia if I'm not mistaken. I like the off-the-shoulder style rather than the V-neck style. It's much more elegant. The white gown she wore during WA 40th birthday was also very nice. I agree it would have looked better if she was wearing a tiara. I also love her pre-wedding gown. The design was marvelous. Evening gowns with typical spanish designs suit her better i.e. silver pre-wedding gown and the red skirt gown during F&M wedding.

I really like the jacket, a plain shirt WITHOUT any applications would have been better. Jacket, shirt & trousers seem to be different shades of black ... and finally some decent shoes! :)

The jacket is actually a repeat - she wore it during a private trip to a ballet in February 2008 image

I totally agree with you - this dress is one of her best. It's simple and although it stresses Letizia's bony arms I like it. The only thing which in my opinion spoilts her outlook is the shape of the earrings...

I really loved that white dress also. The beautiful earrings really set it off too IMO. I wonder why she doesn't wear them more?

I love the jacket, very very stylish. The detail is beautiful. :flowers:

Forgive me for being an exception here.No matter how much I like CP Letizia's fashion sense, she let me down this time.I find this particular jacket quite ugly and the reason is exactly this pattern/embroidery.

I agree with Melina, I´m not very fond of this jacket either...

I hate the jacket... I think the design on makes her look older

Hate is a very harsh word, but I'm not a fan of it either. I do not like the fact that the blacks are all a different shade. Not a favorite outfit of mine.....

I don't like this gown to, don't like the jacket at all, the shape, more of all
she wore the same style last year in asturia but in gold and a quite different shape
I didn't like it to..

I think the jacket is ok, a bit spanish, 18th century type of embroidery. It is for a solomn occasion in the evening so she could not look too glamorous but not too casusal either.

Well I dont know if the dress code demanded black, but if it did, this was a way of adding a bit of something without breaking it
