I like the trousers - they fit her at last! - and the jacket, but black with grey and white... She could have limited the colours IMO.

What's up with her make-up today?

Let's not be peeky! . No poor fitting, no odd shapes, no miniskirts, NO UGLY SHOES, no tighs or worst leather leggings!, no big scarves.

iNot that I'm a fan of the outfit but... like they say in baseball it's a safe

Mr. Caprile's work far surpasses that of Mr.Varela in my personal opinion.
I don't think his resume had been that excellent before Letizia, he was still a young designer. He is from the right circle, Felipe's childhood friend, friend of Elena and Jaime, his store was right below Elena's old flat. Zarzuela is quite conservative, it's always safter to work with someone they knew. Caprile is also from the same circle. He is a much better tailor than Varela, however he has been a disappointment too the last few years. His clothes were too old fashioned, never understood why he wanted to dress Letizia like Felipe's grandmas who were neither fashionable, nor having the same body shape as Letizia.
Letizia should go with Elio Berhanyer, Angel Shlessers, Adolfo Dominguez and Miguel Palacio, classic style but with modern touch.

I think Letizia's outfit today is ok, but nothing spectacular. She looks professional, her clothes fit, and she looks appropriate for the event. Maybe I am just sick of seeing her wear darker/neutral colors. I can't wait for spring. Hopefully we will see some prettier clothes in colors that really accentuate her beauty.

IMHO.
Do not expect to see any new outfits - you might be disappointed.

The outfit is suitable for the event. Nothing special, but I like it though.
I dont like the outfit combination. The pieces are nice but not together, the look was very masculine IMO.

Well, then she didn't wear the right black jacket with the right white shirt and grey trousers I suppose. The whole look is a bit off...

Compared to some of the outfits that she has worn in the last few weeks I didn't mind this one. Still a long way to go to get back to her best though.

I quite like the outfit from today, nothing spectacular, but I just like its simplicity. I like a lot the jacket and the shirt, the trousers aren´t the best, but they´re ok and much better than usual. The whole outfit is a bit boring, but appropriate, IMO

I like the jacket very much, but I agree with someone who said she should have limited the colours. Somehow the grey trousers don't go well with the rest of the outfit, IMO. Though I find them nice separately. I don't think the look is too masculine, it just doesn't suit Letizia's skinny appearance and hence makes her look androgynous.

... Mr. Varela is the friend of Done Jaime, who has got an amazing taste in fashion, and Infanta Elena. I have not been aware of this fact. I agree with you noting that Mr.Caprile did a much better job tailoring ensembles for Crown Princess Letizia.

You're absolutely right. These outfits, especially the dresses, are so elegant. Then my rhetorical question is: since Letizia does recycle a lot, why not these clothes as well?

What a great collection of photos, Princechermed! I just loved Letizia's outfits she wore in Romania, especially the purple one. Those earrings were gorgeous! With the exception of her ever-present platform shoes, she really looked fabulous.
