The colored block dress just doesn't work, the color and fit is awful IMO.
Its a pity such a pretty lady steps up without thinking twice on her overall appearance, hair, make up etc.

imo: "understated" is usually not the first thing that comes to mind with the Grimaldi family.. and I'm still undecided whether this is a concious statement of the couple (a new "tone" for Monaco, if you will) or lack-of-confidence-trying-to-blend-in-the-background...

I like both dresses, the second colorful one doesn't seem to fit too well up top.
A necklace would have helped, or earrings.Do lovethe length, colors and fabric.
I was put off by her bad hairdo and makeup on the second also.

This "princess" just looks like she can't be bothered. She steps out looking like an unmade bed, her clothes and style are just horrible.

She's not the only one. I frequently think the same about Camilla .

the colourful dress is ok when you have dinner at the beach without makeup or undergarments.

That pretty much sums it up. I was surprised by her outfit for Princess Madeline's wedding. It may have worked if she had worn jewels.

I love Charlenes style, she pretty much does whatever she so desires that day and I respect that so much. When she wants to knock it out of the park, she sure as shoots does, when she wants to wear whatever she feels comfortable in, then she goes the full nine yards with it. She's making up her own rules and looks pretty happy with it. Plus, she is in a position and principality where that is not only allowed but encouraged.

Well, at least Camilla occasionally wears some big jewelry guns from the royal vaults ;-) I'm sure it's not really her nature to wear the bling, but she actually wears it really well (especially the chokers) when the occasion calls for it...

^^^This, exactly. Camilla isn't averse to wearing her big-gun jewels for the appropriate occasion, and when it's expected of her, unlike Charlene who prefers to keep her jewels stagnating in the vault.

Please. If I had what she has access to what those two do, I would be dripping with the stuff 24/7.

Charlene needs very little embellishment, she is stunning. It would be nice if she worse some simple jewelry. Camilla needs all the help she can get.

Could you please enlighten me as to what that last sentence adds to a discussion about "P.Charlene's Fashion and Style"?
Or did you just put it there to satisfy your own grudge?

I must admit to also being curious as to what the fashion of the Duchess of Cornwall has to do with the fashion of the Princess of Monaco.

As for Charlenes lack of jewellry sho obviously does not feel the need to prove anything to anybody but going about 24/7 dripping in diamonds.

There's a long way between nothing and 24/7? No one realistically expects her to wear jewels "24/7". How about when proper jewels when the occasion warrants jewels? Don't get me wrong, I actually like her take on modern minimalist but only when she owns it and completes the look from head to toe. Too often she just looks like she doesn't care or would rather be anywhere else and that's an unfortunate message to send in her position as
Princess of Monaco.

I never added it, it was several posts before me. I think Camilla looks fine sometimes, and not, but this is not the venue. She was compared to Charlene's casual approach to dress and Charlene's lack of jewels. Camilla is not in Charlene's league and never was.

Interesting Princejohnny because this is why I am a little disappointed in her appearances in the recent months. When you are representing your country ( such as at Madeleine's wedding) I think you shouldn't just do whatever you desire on the day. Not sure I agree that the Principality encourages making up your own rules - try coming off the beach in swimwear or entering the casino in trainers :)

Camilla and Charlene have a few things in common. They are both female and are both married either to the monarch or heir, and they both seem comfortable with themselves and their bodies. (Is the ruling prince of a principality the monarch? For present purposes I am assuming he is.) However Camilla is very much older than Charlene and I see no point in further comparison, especially not in this thread.

I certainly agree that Charlene needs very little embellishment. I can see her setting her own distinctive style involving wearing simple designs she seems to favour complemented by few but striking pieces of jewellery. I look forward to the day she achieves that balance.

I love Charlene . . . every time she appears she surprises us. I love her elegant and classic clothing and clean cut lines on her evening wear. As to her jewellery I think she is just not used to it yet and literally forgets to put on her earrings. However, she doesn't really need them to look fabulous.

Hee Hee. Charlene knows she looks good in a grocery sack, so she sometimes wears one. I can't stop laughing. She's the prettiest European princess around and I think that's why she gets so much guff. Her best accessory is her prince, who holds her hand all the time.
