I wonder if she didn't have a bad day. EA was supposed to be with her, and he didn't show up -- which made me wonder if he wasn't suffering from a hangover.

prince ernst looks like one of the beatles from the 1965 movie HELP in that outfit he's wearing next to caroline's swiss miss outfit.

Marlene, from what I've read, it is said that some time in the late nineties, she suffered from hair loss due to alopecia. This is a condition that can cause either hairloss over the entire scalp, or hair loss in patches. Not sure which type Caroline allegedly suffered from or what the likely cause was.
According to the media at the time, it was stress-related. At the time, Caroline and Ernst had already embarked on an affair, which of course caused mayhem in the Hannover household, as Ernst was very married at the time, to Chantal Hochuli. It is alleged that Chantal, when learning about the affair, tried her utmost to save her marriage. What I wonder, though, is why it wasn't Chantal who lost <her> hair in the process! Her husband abandoning her for another woman.
But I am getting very much off topic here.
Back on topic, I have to say that during the time Caroline was faced with a hairless head, she really, fashionwise, made the best of it, kudo's to her.

Caroline's fashion sense seems to be faltering lately. The outfits she wore at the enthronement were not very flattering, though they looked expensive. Some were downright frumpy.

True she is getting older! But you can wear cloths that flatter you at any age! I suppose that when I think of female public figures getting older I always think their style should become even more elegant then what is was when they were young! But Caroline is proving the opposite! She is choosing cloths that make her look older! I don't know, maybe this just me.

I think your point about the makeup is also important. She always wears dark lipstick that accentuates her wrinkles and I think she dyes her hair because it is very black and a softer brown would be more flattering. Then again for all that she has been hrough in her life she looks amazing!
