I don't think it's bad either and I agree about the sweater - it would look better tucked in her skirt so it doesn't show at the bottom.

Her jacket is gorgeous and the red/grey combination is lovely.

Princess Anne has unveiled a plaque to commemorate the opening of the renovated headquarters of St. Andrews First Aid in Glasgow

and she visited the Arria sculpture in Eastfield, Cumbernauld, Glasgow. The 10-metre-high public art sculpture was designed to boost the town’s image.

Red is a good color for Anne even if the coat looks slightly big on her.

Anne has a good figure, is not attractive and has no fashion, so to speak. That being said, I liked the red coat.

Reminds me of an air hostess; but l love her anyhow. She's such a worker.

Agreed about the color and the fit..clearly purchased in the 80's. She's the "Queen" of recycle and on trend witout even trying to be. Don't they call it "eco chic"? She should take her wardrobe to a seamstress and have it all altered and modernized. I'm jealous that she can still fit into them!

It does seem as if Anne needs a makeover, but there are times when she really seems very stylish such as at weddings, Ascot or a garden party.
These I think are her special occassion outfits, the type of thing other royal women would where all the time and they look wonderful on her.
However, Anne's day to day where for "work" duties such as opening a school etc are not about fashion or style, just about putting something comfortable and practical on for the day. It seems that like many women, she divides her wardrobe up between everyday wear (as in what you'd go to work in), posher events (as in what you'd where to the races or a wedding) and evening wear. As I said, many royal women dress up for everyday engagements as they would for ascot -which is great, but not Anne's thing!

I agree that what Anne needs is a more flattering hairstyle. A short modern cut would look so much better!
The way she wears her hair accentuates her worst features and makes her look older than she needs to. She actually has very good skin and a nice figure, and could look wonderful if she played up her best points.
But the hair does nothing for her.

Lordy, lordy! The Princess Royal is true to herself, works like anything and you all want her to "look better." I'm glad she is who she is, just like she is. Changing for the sake of change is always a bad idea.

I don't want to disagree with you but after all these years I simply cannot imagine Anne with any other hairstyle - maybe someone could photoshop a picture of Anne and a new hairstyle - my brain just can't process the idea into an image!
I'm quite sure with Anne's hairstyle and fashion it's a case of what Anne WANTS rather than what she needs!

I like this outfit particularly the bright buttons as they really pop out at you.

Anne's hats cheeky, and cute? At the very least, it covers up some of her hair-do. :)
