Those platform shoes are very in fashion right now and much more comfortable compared to the regular high heels. For a woman like Letizia who spends long hours standing up and walking, it's not a bad choice. Most of her handbags and shoes were made in Spain, were not that expensive. A few Loewe handbags (both Jaime and Laura Ponte work for LVMH) and Manolo Blahnik shoes were probably gifts. I heard Elena's hubby Jaime gave her a few pairs of Blahnik shoes as a wedding gift and later Jaime even opened a Blahnik store in Madrid.
She has some very nice jewel pieces after the wedding, then jewelry is a good investment and she can always pass them down to Leonor and Sofia in the future.

The pink shoes. Cute seen up close as in one picture in this thread, but a lot of the shoes Crown Princess Letizia has chosen lately doesn't look too good on her in my opinion. I think she is too petite to wear such "big" shoes. The platform and the rest of the shoe make it big. I know they're in fashion right now, but that is no excuse for it.

Fortunately fashion changes, so hopefully there will be more pictures with Letizia in other types of shoes soon. She used to have great shoes, I've seen so many on her that is just stunning. But lately this "disney look" or "Dolly Duck" shoes, well it is not the best I've seen her in. Just my opinion. I've liked her clothes lately, but that is for another thread. :flowers:

They don't look comfortable and I don't think they are. It's all about height difference, isn't it? Letizia will never make up 30 cm or so, she should get over it and move on. This pair is really extreme, not suitable for a princess at all, I wish she would stop wearing stripper shoes.

She is not the only royal wearing very high heels, almost all of them do, even her almost 70-year-old mother-in-law walking on the 3 or 4-inch heels all the time, Maxima on the other thread was seen riding a bike with a very high heels . I have a couple of pairs similar to what Letizia had, they are definitely more comfortable than the normal 4-inch heels.

Maybe they don't look comfortable but all depend of that if the woman can walk with them right - I mean not on bend knee.

By the way, here you go a photo #3 on the first row (one of few) of the late princess Margaret of the UKimilar shoes:

Ok...., but Princess Margaret had a different body shape, at that shoes were matching the dresses worn by PM.
I'm thinking of buying a pair of nice, more flattering shoes for Princess Letizia

Simple high heels but not too high maybe from 2.5 to 3.5 inches.

They really are comfortable, you just have to purchase a good pair and that means they will be quite expensive. Of course Letizia shouldn't have to worry about that part. Does anyone know if the shoes she has been wearing lately have been made in Spain? Is she perhaps trying to push Spanish designers?

By the way, men love the stripper shoe look. If I was younger, believe me their eyes would bulge!

But don't you think that the wife of a crownprince and future-queen shouldn't wear things a stripper would wear?
If she would push spanish designers, why not wear a pair of nice Pedro Garcia or Pura Lopez shoes

Im not too fond of such high shoes but I will admitt that they do look good with the outfit & I quite like it with a short solid color dress. IF she had worn it with a suit (pants/skirt) I wouldnt like it at all.

I simple dislike this shoes. And I don't think they match the outfit at all.

You remember this shoes(IPA)? They would have been just perfect with the outfit she chose.

The shoes is not something I would wear but they look good with Letizia's outfit.

Clearly, you have no idea what stripper shoes look like, DoM. If you did then you would know that her shoes look far from it. These are stripper shoes.

I think her shoes are just an extra fashionable version of gladiator sandals, which can be worn by ladies from all walks of life, who have got enough funds to afford them and find them appropriate. "... the traditional gladiator sandal of the last two years has been elevated to loftier heights as the “it” shoe of the season. From delicate, embellished metallics to warrior-woman, war-like boots, gladiator footwear ranges from chunky, aggressive platforms to subtle, chic metallic flats"(here is the link for the article Gladiator Shoe Trend - Summer 2008: From Fierce-Looking Women's Footwear to Glamorous Flats). Well, the "it" shoes were chosen to match the bubble dress, which were in vogue this summer season. A certain burlesque star can afford wearing shoes made by premier designers... ;)

Thanks Al_Bina,
I have seen the gladiator sandals a lot but have not seen the high heeled versions.

Kudos to Letty -- those gladiator sandals must have been easily 5 inches (12.5 cm) high!!! I don't believe I could have walked around safely in a pair that teeter-tottering.

I've got to believe that she wears them so high because she has such a tall hubby...

I dont think that is the reason. I think she wears them becasue they are in fashion these days. Begining of her marriage she used to go for normal/average heels;) I wish she could mix them time to time since all her shoes recently or should I say this season have been platform heel

I like the shoes, they are very -sex and city- like.

:bang:Maybe it is time for you to take your own advice on your shoe comments, get over it and move on!!! We have all heard many, many times how much you hate her shoe wardrobe. We get it!!!

Love, love, love the earrings but what is that globby, cheap brooch on the dress - it's awful!
The shoes are the hottest trend in New York --- all of the women are teetering around in them in hot, hot weather.

the brooch is made by Leonor - its cute.

About her last shoes fashion: not everyone must like this kind of shoes but you must admite that it's good to see that someone can normal walk with them.

Is that true? Reason I'm asking is that some very simular types with real stones are being sold as I write in Saks and others. I saw one that was really nice with same back piece design and had large turquoise and coral stones on front.

I read somewhere that the brooch was made by Leonor at her school. If this is true, Letizia must be very proud of her daughter's work that she wore it to a very public affair.
