Princess Diana really just knew what to do with fashion. She got things right almost every time. I admire her so much, what a beauty, she is missed by me, and countless others all around the world.
 
I haven't seen the the third photo outfit before either and it's cool. The last photo with Diana in a black gown and purple gloves is fantastic. She looked gorgeous in the diamond and ruby swag necklace which unfortunately wore just at this event and not in public again.

I always loved the "racy & sexy" silver evening gown with the back cut out! Its always been one of my favorites, thanks for posting it for us.

I don't know the exact day, but I know the photo was taken in 1987. Diana wore the jewels that belonged to the Duchess of Windsor.

These are my favourite pics.The dress is so sophisticated and glamorous, I love it.

I believe those jewels were presented to Diana when she and Charles visited Saudi Arabia. I don't think Diana possessed any jewels from the late Duchess of Windsor. Princess Michael of Kent indeed received some of the late Duchess' jewels.:flowers:

Diana wore the silver lamé dress designed by Bruce Oldfield at least four times; for the first time in April 1985 in London on the occasion where she is pictured with Joan Collins.

The set of ruby jewels did not belong to the Duchess of Windsor.
Princess Diana continued to wear the earrings from this set, but the necklace was only seen in public this one time in the fall of 1987.

I am sorry, but the Duchess of Windsor's ruby and diamond necklace by Van Cleef & Apels is definitely NOT the same as the one worn by Princess Diana.
Both necklaces have a ruby tassel placed asymmetrically in the front, so there is some resemblance at first sight, but in detail there is not. For example, the Duchess of Windsor's necklace had a ruby thread entwined with the diamonds around the neck, while Princess Diana's is all diamonds around the neck.
Diana never wore a piece of jewelry formerly belonging to the Duchess; the only member of the British royal family who did was Princess Michael of Kent.
