:previous: You know, it's with considerable trepidation I open your links!

Apart from the welders-glasses King Mohammed's latest attire is so eccentric that it's almost cool.
At least I don't need a schnapps to compose myself...

Muhler, do you need a schnapps when you see Prince Henri's more eccentric outfits, or are you so used to them now, you are blasé ?

With PH I'm mentally prepared for what he might wear - except back when he mooned at us!

But with King Mohammed absolutely anything is possible! :ermm:

I showed one of the photos to my mother-in-law and she looked like this  for four days! - It took some heavy diplomacy but we are fortunately back on speaking terms again. :)

Ha ha ha! I would imagine that your mother in law is very much used to seeing photos of royals in all sorts of outfits by now! However, it's true! King Mohammed does spring the unexpected on us. At least he's not like a certain Thai Royal and gifts his midriff to the public as well!

What does the retired but well-attired - and well-rounded - royal gentleman wear when he is semi-casual for an unveiling of one his own works?
Especially on the West Coast of Jutland, where the locals are not impressed by a suit and tie!
PH nails it: https://app.box.com/s/w9j6abok0cya9r9ipcyvfi70p1mxsgjj

Compare that to the local traditional attire for men on the West Coast.
Informal attire, for everyday occasions:
https://bt.bmcdn.dk/media/cache/resolve/image_1240/image/96/969764/16076307-saxo-photo.jpeg

And formal attire for weddings, funerals and so on. Here is a merry group of locals celebrating a silver anniversary: https://jyllands-posten.dk/premium/indblik/Indland/image/9503738/vt7oh2/ALTERNATES/h-5_3/fyraften

Here are two Norwegians, who have tried to blend in with the locals. (It's crawling with Norwegians along the West Coast, lured by the open expanses and the blinding light. A total change from their fjords.) - But they don't fool anyone though...

Had they been locals the beers would all have been empty.

:previous: very Henrik. and something tells me that coat will be inherited by Joachim, but then again I think he already has one in purple :ROFLMAO:

Frederik today, proving that he can knock it out of the park style wise in the morning, day and night.
In the morning at a School Olympics event. Ready to run laps with the school kids. Bright shoes but not too colorful

arriving in Norway for the birthday celebrations, on the Danish Royal yacht.
Modern and stylish.

and in white tie for the birthday dinner, looking sharp

a Prince who looks great at any event;)

Now, let's marvel at Carl-Phillip at the festivities on Norway: http://www.billedbladet.dk/sites/bi...ic/storage_1/media/20170509-213539-4_15mb.jpg

Observe and admire the correct length of his coat tails.
The shirt dripping exactly one inch below his jacket.
His shirtsleeves showing, but no too much - in contrast to other men who leave the impression of having too long or two short arms.:ermm:
And his trouser-legs is tailored to just the right length. No showing of socks and surplus layers of fabric around his ankles. - Again leaving the impression that he, in contrast to some other men, has legs that go from around the hips to the floor and back. ;)
So :cool::cool::cool: from me.

Frederik is almost there, but his shirt... :ermm:
http://www.billedbladet.dk/sites/bi...ic/storage_1/media/20170509-210409-l_16mb.jpg
He's leaving the impression that his torso and arms are too short.
So only :cool::cool: from me.

Then we have Bernhard Mach, who fails on all the above mentioned accounts:
http://www.billedbladet.dk/sites/bi...ic/storage_1/media/20170509-211218-4_15mb.jpg
Coat tails too long.
No shirt showing.
No contrast to show off his butterfly.
Nothing funny on his lapels.
Ill-fitting trouser.
No, no, no.
:doh::doh::doh: From me.

:previous: You are so right Muhler, unless a man shoots his cuffs perfectly he looks odd, no more so than in white tie if the waistcoat is not fitted perfectly.

However, I saw a Swede in jeans. I saw a Swede in scruffy faded jeans . . . and he was holding a Swedish Princess!!!

https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-zQvdtCCk...LcB/s595/Princess-Estelle-at-KISS-Concert.jpg

I think it's time for some Baileys Irish Cream! Pass the ice, please.

You know, it's with some hesitation I click on your links, Mademoiselle Lilo. ;)

But this time the shock wasn't as big. I'm merely puzzled: Is the early 70's back in fashion? :ermm: - If so I'd like to sign up for five years of hibernation.

Who is the guy who is trying to look cool next to the King?
That's a fail, the King on the other hand is the real thing.

Surely you have, if not a kaftan, a pair of flared trousers and a psychedelic tie tucked away somewhere, Muhler? You will fit right in.

It's actually a cute photo. :)

I had to check if it had been photoshopped. It isn't.
So the conclusion is that V&D went to the concert in either Copenhagen or Finland, simply in order to blend in with the natives. A Swede, dressed as a Swede would normally do, would simply stand out like a lighthouse! So upon leaving Swedish territory, V&D changed to local attire.
Daniel, like most Swedish men in that situation, had to steady his nerves with several sniffs of "snus" (a peculiarity Swedes do when they party hard! It's a long story for another time) Yet had it not been for the encouragement of his beloved daughter he still wouldn't have been able to put on those jeans. They go against his very nature.

It's true. they called from Daily Mail and told me. :)

For those who are unfamiliar with "snus": https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snus

Well, I must admit to own a polo-shirt in vivid colors. - Two actually. - Okay, several to be honest. - Well, Most. :p

Well certainly for M6 the 2000 arn't here yet he sticked in the 79,80 and 90th:D
i don't know the man with him in the picture but i guess a friend.

Certainly that is a shirt few men would dare wear outside :p
goes well with the suit ;)

Frederik at the Ice hokey championship, where he was named patron for 2018.

perfect combo, elegant, modern, stylish.

It is actually.

A very nice formal-informal attire. A bit retro with the slip-over and a bit boarding school with that tie. Nice!
:cool::cool:

:previous: Ah, that was the word I was looking for . . . boarding school! And yes it does and it also clashes with the slip-over or vest which clashes with . . . well . . . everything. However, "everything" else is pretty darned nifty! :D

I believe he has been denied entry into Ireland for wearing such pants. Lest he spooks the leprechauns.
They tend to take golf very seriously in Ireland, you know!
I've even heard not being passionate about golf is reason enough for an immediate and unconditional divorce there. :irelandflag: :p

Not to mention Canada. The otherwise very polite Canadians would almost consider uttering rude words if he played in Canada dressed like that.

It's true, our mailman who knows everything told me. ;)

I think men look dapper in suits and I have to say I am fan of Edward's suit in this photo from an engagement last week:

Edward

It's a change to the normal black and navy suits.

Today, we had the pleasure of seeing William and Harry dressed up side by side: https://bt.bmcdn.dk/media/cache/res...-britain-royals-people-middleton-marriage.jpg

And they are almost there, but only almost.
Harry: Striped pants. - Yes!
A well-fitted outfit, with the correct length of the coat tail. - Yes!
Nice vest. - OK.
Nothing on the lapel. :ermm:
No handkerchief in the pocket. :ermm:
Safe but pretty boring tie. - OK.

William:
A well-fitted suit, but his watch is showing. (I'll get back to that)
A daring tie. - OK.
A pin in the tie, all gentlemen wear a tie-pin. - Yes!
Handkerchief. - Yes!
But where is the thingy on the lapel? :ermm:
Where are the striped pants? :ermm:

Both of them will get :cool: from me.
But the last  is missing.
Where is the PANG? - Colored and patterned vests would give us a real PANG-effect! Or at least some vivid ties. This is a party, so let's rock!
And the final touch is missing: Gentlemen wear a watch on a chain when wearing a vest. Or at least the chain...
Prince Charles would have blown them out of the water.

Perfectly fitted, but a little boring.:cool:
But I would very much like to see Edward go Mohammed, just once. :D

Muhler - commentary exceeding all hopes, as usual. Is there a name for that blousing out of the tie above the pin? If not, there should be.

And now, Harry and Wills know what to get one another for Christmas! Watches. And Kate can get them the chains.

I'm just happy Harry's well worn friendship bracelets are not sticking out from his cuffs.

British male suits are always the best. Well-dressed. A classic wedding style. I think if Harry weds, he's more likely to wear British military wear than traditional British male wedding attire.

And - uncle Gary with PANG. Not much else though. LOL. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DASZ6OmXkAAP5Y0.jpg.

Oh dear, oh dear. This is a typical example of why well-rounded gentlemen should always wear braces. Otherwise the belt tends to end up pretty far down the hips... Under the belly!
And when bowing such gentlemen tend to cause irreparably psychological damage to innocent bystanders standing behind them...

I assume the majority of ladies here on TRF are not acquainted with gentlemen's privies?
Imagine up to several such well-rounded gentlemen standing around, some trying to locate the belt-buckle somewhere under their bellies.
While others, who have managed to find both ends of their belts are in the process of going through hip-movements, that would be the envy of even the most experienced belly-dancer, in order to find the right under-belly-spot, around which they can tighten their belts. - All that without actually being able to see the belt-buckle mind you!

Yes, it's called: "We are British". It's actually supposed to be that way. It's a compensation for the stiff upper lip beforehand. When correctly attired British gentlemen beforehand wanted to show that they were really in party-mood, they tucked their ties up a bit. ;)
The sale of smelling-salt went up by 1400% back in 1903, when that fashion was introduced in British society. :p

Perhaps William and Harry should have worn tartan trousers as a couple of the other guests did with their morning suit jackets and ties etc. That would have zinged things up a bit.

Good gracious those pants were ugly! I think Uncle Gary and Spencer Matthews looked the best at the wedding. All the other guys were boring or looked ridiculous.

.

This is a thread for the fashion and style of royal men, posts about Roger Federer and other socialites have been deleted as off-topic. Thank you for your understanding!
