We are blessed to have a number of Kings/Princes that are sartorially splendid these days. Joachim and Freddie lead the pack. Delicious!

Thanks, Polyesco. :) You being our resident Frederik specialist I was in no doubt you could provide us with pics.

Roslyn, I trust the moment Harry and William let their inner hippie out, you'll let us know here?

Indeed, Admire, the menfolks don't have much to work with, so it's fun when they break the conventions.

LadyNimue. That's Christian Kjær, a close friend of PH with whom he banter a lot. His tie is in the pattern of probably the best know china from my and my parents generation: https://d2mpxrrcad19ou.cloudfront.net/item_images/136739/2332191_fullsize.jpg

But I can also be more serious for a while.

Here are two brands of polo shirts Frederik seems to be fond of:
https://app.box.com/s/xbgrd7ets1vhth17l1o7cbmzmtuekbky
Abercrombie and Fitch

https://app.box.com/s/mordid7ka61bw5i9lbk9bwxcfcg6isih
And Penguin.

Thank you, Muhler & Polyesco, for the wonderful photos of Joachim and Fredrik. :flowers:

I'm particularly fond of Joachim's camouflage tuxedo and Dr No jacket. :D Both princes look very smart in uniform! And in general they demonstrate a willingness to wear colour and things that are "different" that I think the British royal men would do well to follow. I'd be delighted if William turned up in a Dr No jacket. I might begin to think he actually had a personality! But the Danes have the precedent of Henrik's choices, and that gives them an advantage.
Sadly, I think if William did that he would be called out as racially insensitive etc... I understand why they stick to a formula, as the queen does. Leaves less room for critique.

:previous: I'm obviously missing something. Why would William wearing a jacket like Joaquim's be called out as racially insensitive? I really don't understand what's wrong with wearing a jacket like that. I like the look of that Nehru-style jacket on a man with the right body type, and I think Joaquim looks hot in his! :D

Because it's like the chinese traditional coats and it could be seen as insensitive use of national clothing. I don't agree, I just say there's a big comfort in going with a "uniform". Especially since the huge line of extremly wired critiques the BRF royals can get (Especially the younger ones)

Oh, OK. I would have thought it would have been a compliment, to wear something in a design that was adapted from the Chinese or Indian style. And infinitely more interesting than the boring sameness that we tend to see in the British Royals. Charles has always had a bit of flair, though.

And I just think that William has really boring taste in clothing.

Oh yeah, he definitley does that as well! I'm not saying that! They have super boring clothes both he and Harry. (Although, I have to admit I adorkably love Williams pullover and glasses look!) I was just making a point that I can see the upsides with a boring and predictable style in their position.

I agree. Although sometimes Joachim's choices can be surprising :ROFLMAO:

Here is Frederik with his air force uniform, He doesn't use it often but i think he looks quite dashing in blue ;)

:previous: Give me surprising over boring any day of the week. :D

The British royal men really like their stale suits. Charles's fashion hasn't changed much, but he carries himself in a very elegant and gentleman like way, and it shows in his style. It would be nice to see the younger royal men update their style. They can afford it!

I agree. It's strange how the British royal women follow fashions and trends like many other women in the country, yet the royal men don't. It seems to be a peculiarity to the royals alone, because there are plenty of male aristocrats and well-to-do folk who wear some of the most interesting fashions.

:previous: Well we shall see how long Harry's flirtation with beards continues. And he has appeared in a couple of double-breasted suits, but I think there is something more to clothes than wearing them. It comes down to confidence, flair, all the little idiosyncracies we take for granted.

As Charles is wont to say, he comes back into 'fashion' every decade or so. But it is also the little touches that keep him appearing on various 'Best Dressed' lists. His tie is almost always a perfect windsor or double windsor knot, and those ties bear watching. I have even noticed one or two of the more "on trend" cutaway collar shirts on him! He even wears a cravat with nonchalant ease.

One other thing I absolutely adore about Charles is that he actually uses a proper boutonniere, and they really are delightful, the only time he doesn't is when he is on tour or around remembrance days where poppies supplant them. His ties are complimented, not necessarily matched, by his ever elegant kerchief tucked nonchalantly in his breast pocket, none of those starched and ironed single or triple peaks for him!

He wears his clothes, his clothes do not wear him. I think that is why he is often overlooked in the sartorial stakes. Now Frederik, being that much younger than Charles, can wear the reincarnation of stove-pipe pants, whilst on Charles they would look ridiculous.

:previous: I agree about Charles. :flowers: Pleasure to watch. Very elegant always. In a sense, always dresses 'the king'.

:previous: I agree me too. For me Prince Charles but also King Felipe is the most well dressed royal men:)

Wow, at his age he still looks particularly dashing... Love the color of the flower matxhing his tie! Original!

:previous: Indeed. That's pretty stylish.

With hunting season in Denmark, lets look at the recent fashion hunting attire from Henrik's sons

Muhler has already shared with us Henrik's choices

Joachim has followed in his footsteps
http://www.billedbladet.dk/sites/bi...d/public/11112015_gbl3423_2.jpg?itok=_4PK7rHz :eek::eek:

Frederik thankfully has gone a less "stun-and-aw" route

looking quite handsome ;)

:previous: No, they fall asleep, looking at Frederik.:sleeping:

It's much better to stun the animals, like PH is doing.:shock:

Or perplex the deer like Joachim is doing.

:p

Here is a picture of two royal gentlemen in the shape of Frederik and Joachim: https://app.box.com/s/o2i6zoo03dx2rppbjw7ot9dgr9mvvmu7
Neatly dressed both of them, but observe and admire how Joachim takes it one notch higher.
The neatly folded, yet cheeky handkerchief, but especially the vest. Which prevents the shirt from showing when you only use one button. Two :cool: from me.

Of Frederik: https://app.box.com/s/jx4czz4ha6iol97jr4i3
That's more like it. No jacket, but a vest. Youthful, yet stylish. One

Here is an example of a mistake turning into cult. Notice Frederik's sock: https://app.box.com/s/z31n8ufy4e5i6qdsqjwe

This however is uncool. Is his jacket closed with a safety-pin?!? No, no, no! Two :eek:

Even though a belt is more practical, suspenders adds a certain gravitas, when one is wearing a shirt: https://app.box.com/s/0ctam4n74njw7t7cqjqh
One

Here Frederik and Joachim is going full farmer: https://app.box.com/s/ao5ajletkcdanrfnqp0n
Joachim's sixpence is appropriate, the rest...? Perhaps Mary and our Marie accidentally burned their husbands clothes, One can always hope. one

Beards are always preferable to stubbles! Or are they? Had This been the early 70's Frederik might have looked like this: https://app.box.com/s/64rtlmdnpgeaosxi0iyw

one has the excuse of being young and without a nice wife to throw those things away;):ROFLMAO:

But now that we are on Haakon
we really need to throw and burn these brown shoes.... He uses them all the time with suits that do not go...they look dirty and worn out

Thanks for all these pictures guys!

When wearing a tie and pocket handkerchief, the colours don't need to match, but they do need to contrast nicely either in colour of pattern - for instance a blue and white stripe tie and a blue and white polkadot handkerchief or in Prince Joachim's case the colour of the handkerchief could have been darker with the gold.

Scarves really suit Frederik well as an accessory. I've tried this look myself but ended up looking a little, shall we say, foppish! Somehow Frederik still looks princely when he wears them!

That is an interesting tie! Prince Edward always wears a funky tie. He obviously got that from his Dad!

I have to say I do love the Windsor men in their morning suits and top hats for Ascot.

Prince Michael looking dapper

Prince Edward (and The Earl of Derby)

Prince Harry

A top hat just finishes the look and makes them look more handsome. I forget Edward has no hair when he has a top hat on!

Fanatics shall not be allowed to spoil our fun or ruin the mood of the forum.

:previous: Thanks Marg :)

I'm not familiar with wearing a top hats, so are the gentlemen expected to lift and hold their hats whenever a lady address them?

Thanks Molly.

Prince Michael indeed look stylish. That's the way to do it, combined with a well-groomed beard,:cool::cool: from me.

And Prince Edward nails it too.:cool:

Prince Harry. Weeell, a bit bland. Considering his personality and age he could easily add some strong colors. Let out his inner hippie.
And I know it's angle of the photo, but one get's the impression that if Harry hadn't had ears he wouldn't be able to see anything. :D
