Frederik. Day 2, dinner in Saudi Arabia
With a lovely blue suit that fits like a glove, with a beautiful polka dot tie
http://imageupper.com/s02/1/5/Y1456850322312375_1.jpg

This suit is a perfect fit on Frederik - sartorial elegance at its best! The shade of blue is good and vibrant and the tie being a darker shade add enough contrast!

I've not worn a suit for years, now I want to buy a new one!

Frederik forgoing the use of a tie but still in a very nice suave suit ;)

with a lovey red and blue striped tie to complete the blue suit

Not liking Daniel's coat (too many buttons) but glad he didnt use a tie
http://scontent.xx.fbcdn.net/hphoto...=2265265f795e2e98cc0edce0c11d4c89&oe=5761542B

and yes, I know, this is not important in this great occasion ;);)

I think he looked fine. I only think the jacket pulled a bit, but maybe it's only the illusion on his movements. It's actually quite a good mix of official and casual look!

I actually prefer Daniel's suit, because although Frederik has learned how to dress in recent years, the thing about suits with only button being buttoned, so the shirt can be seen - and in the case of a lot of men, bulging out - over his belt, doesn't look good. (Even worse if the tie is drooping.) For those who have special interest in belt-buckles that's of course fascinating but I find that it looks sloppy.

Not only that, there is obviously "water in the basement" at home in the palace, because his trouser legs are too short.

Wonder what he will do when the shoes are finally worn completely out? :p

Yes. Far too tight on the thighs that make the pants rise up and appear too short.
Those shoes

Frederik straight from the hot countries of Saudi Arabia and Qatar, where he looked close to perfection in his lovely suits and ties, and now on to Greenland.
Keeping warm with layers. I like his checkered shirt.

and the stylish touch of wearing a nice scarf underneath to keep warm

Modern and great for his events at the Arctic Winter Games, of which he is patron of
and of course, always with that million-dollar smile ;)

:previous: Good grief, it looks like Haakon takes the lead in the worst dressed men's category! The too small coat, the slipper shoes with what looks like goloshes and the mismatched trousers and, is that water in the basement just to finish the "look"?

Haakon with his favorite shoes covered with some rubber covers:eek:
too small coat and mismatched pants

Are we sure that Haakon is wearing galoshes and they are not so ghastly new pair of shoes we will never see the end of? It's hard to tell from the picture.

I'm not really sure what to say about the whole look. The jacket is too short, the trousers are unpressed and the dour colours seem unprofessional to me.

I don't mind Haakon going more casual in his style if he wants to, one can look clean-cut and smart in a pair of jeans and a nice crisp shirt.

Anyway, here's a couple of pictures showing Haakon perfectly dressed and looking his usual cool self:

Whoah, I finally see a change in William's trousers! Something new at last! I guess I still have to get used to this novelty and I cannot pass my judgement on th new pants at the moment!

:previous: At last William has a go at "dressy casual". White dress shirt, blue tie, black blazer or is it a suit jacket, khaki trousers and brown (looks like) suede shoes. It's a strange amalgam of formal top half and casual bottom. I have to admit, I'm not feeling the love here!

agree. he gets some brownie points for trying ;) anything is better than the usual blue suit :ROFLMAO:

It seems Will took a leaf out of uncle Edward's wardrobe and paired a jacket with some khakis.... (see the post on Edward's clothing in the Bahamas a few posts up!)

he just needed a cool hat lol

Khaki trousers should be a get-go look for many men; still, I find them odd on William.

This is not an unusual look at all in the UK. The only difference is that ties are used a lot less now than previously.

Just in case you thought that this thread was only a "Worst Case Royal Men" thread, I thought I'd lighten the tone.

I had taken it for granted that Prince Daniel had totally succumbed to the Uniform Royal Blue, single-breasted, Straightjacket Suit Syndrome but, when I looked closer, I discovered Victoria's beloved Daniel is a wee bit of a royal rebel.

Now these are casual looks I wouldn't mind seeing again:

https://encrypted-tbn1.gstatic.com/...xyxQAKpf0AFoQqBLqz5pcSpt6NJSW4ZrCiGn2WhIEIhoo

And not all blues are "Royal Men's Suit Blue".

And here I found a grey suit which actually isn't a really great colour on him but at least it isn't blue:
http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-u8svQsx6q...ApCM/ZNvkJSh-dRs/s595/Princess-Victoria-7.jpg

And then a black suit which looks sharp, if a little severe/funereal:

Then he snuck in a Uniform Royal Blue double-breasted suit:
https://www.google.co.nz/url?sa=i&r...Wu3GRJbn9LeMV7Z_E8C11RrQ&ust=1457833334219515

And then he snuck in a blue and grey pinstriped double-breasted suit:
http://www.marcussamuelsson.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/Marcus-and-Prince-Daniel.jpg

And then I found a photo of him brown tweed double breasted suit though I'm not fussed on the dark blue tie he's wearing and really don't think he's a 'tweed' kind of guy:
https://www.google.co.nz/url?sa=i&r...Wu3GRJbn9LeMV7Z_E8C11RrQ&ust=1457833334219515

And then a debonair light grey tweed or marled double-breasted suit that sort of surprised me:
https://www.google.co.nz/url?sa=i&r...Ssn0cz-6ezf9Nea4X50pQmdQ&ust=1457835689676519

And here a photo of a pretty cool looking family!

:previous:thanks, Daniel looks much better without a tie :flowers:

Frederik tonight at the culture and arts ball
Lovely and stylish dark blue and black tux that fits perfectly

nice added touch of the handkerchief, and of course that million dollar smile

without Henrik attending it was up to Joachim once again to bring in the velvet :D (lucky for us he followed in his brother's footsteps a bit and wore a darker jacket and not his red velvet one):whistling:

:previous: I want a hat like that for Christmas!:cool::cool:

Now, if you are a man, a beard is also a fashion-statement, right?
Here are a selection of bearded royals, with more or less success. But you be the judge.

Haakon, well, better than clean-shaved. - But a schnurrbart might do the trick. :D
Frederik, nah!
William, well, there is some serious potential there.
Felipe, wait until his hair is more grey and it'll look better.
Philippe, nah!
Guillaume, no, not outside certain nightclubs...
Harry, too wildman.
Carl Phillip, Well, okay.
Joachim - Photoshopped!! Never happened. A BB-prank.
But should Albert, Willem-Alexander and Daniel grow a beard?
Let's make it simple: Daniel, ain't gonna happen! He's archetypical Swedish, so that's an impossibility. Shocking even!

Henrik is a walking, talking fashion statement on his own! I agree Frederik hasn't got the face for a beard. Felipe, on the other hand, may grow his again. He seems to chop and change with his facial adornment. Has Willem-Alexander never had a beard? I'm sure I've seen a photo of him with one in his younger days. I can't imagine Daniel with a beard. I suppose it would be very dark.

I can't imagine Haakon without his beard. He looks great this way. Harry and Filipe look good with beards too. Frederik looks better without. Not sure about William and the Belgian Filip.

:previous: He tries, the good Phillip, but he has a long way to go, before he is equal to the master, PH.

Let us hope Haakon never takes the beard off. His attractiveness goes to near zero without it ;)
Felipe too gains alot with a beard.
The Windsor boys are much better with beards too, it distracts from the very top :whistling::D
Frederik really, with or without, he looks 100%.
Carl-Philip needs to better maintain it, along with his long hair it looks messy at times.

Joachim - Photoshopped!! Never happened. A BB-prank.

oh but it did! and not with great results. :p
Lets take a closer look

My dear, Polyesco. Joachim is naturally blameless for the unfortunate facial-hair. :)
That was a subtle vendetta perpetrated by a vengeful Alexandra. Joachim, who is a perfect gentleman, would never ever dream of trying to grow a beard unless forced to do it. :ermm:
Or as in this case urged on by a woman. It is a well-known fact that a gentleman, Joachim being one, will consider any request from a lady a command.

Frederik however, I fail to see how 77 stubbles and a cluster of hair resembling a drowned field-mouse can be sexy.
While it may endear him to a sledge-dog, he really hasn't got the face, the skin, the personality nor the genes for a beard.
Clean-shaved that works.

Think of Mary, she can't have an accessory with stubbles.
