Mette-Marits hats hated by norwegian milliner
http://www.vg.no/pub/vgart.hbs?artid=106653
Quote:
One of Norways (few) milliners Åse Strand says that she very often chooses wrong hat to go with her outfits. I think her hats are frumpy, she says, The Queen uses more youthful hats (In that paper edition she loves the Hat the Queen used for the bridgeopening ) Its a pitty, becuse she is very beautiful but to often she chooses an outfit that makes her look ten years older than she is. She is tired of Mette-Marit choosing the wrong hat when on royal duty, that she uses the wrong hat at the wrong time is to common. "I almost choked on my champagen when she showed up for a christening with feathers in her hair" Feathers is only for partys and coctails. It shows lack of traditions. She thinks Mette-MArit could learn a thing or two from the swedish royals. The swedish royals always has elegant hats (I respectfully disagree), they look like ladies, Mette-Marit looks frumpy. The Queen of Norway is always elegant and Märtha Louise has alot of humor when chossing hats, OK they are not always successful, but Märtha never looks like a grey mouse. she alos wants Ari and Haakon to wear hats more, especially Ari which she thinks is made for hats.
Her review of some of Mette-Marits hats
http://www.vg.no/bilder/edrum/1123757514554_0.jpg
To strict, she should have softened it, it looks flat and unfeminine, the shade should have been lower and more tilted, that would have been more elegant
http://www.vg.no/bilder/edrum/1123757590477_431.jpg
Wrong shape:The Hat is too big for her narrow face. The feathers are too big, If the shade were more tilted it would have framed her face in a better and more elegant way.
http://www.vg.no/bilder/edrum/1123757657505_709.jpg
A boring outfit and the feathers are over the top, its inappropriate for a morning wedding. Feathes are only for the evening
http://www.vg.no/bilder/edrum/1123757727914_747.jpg
Lump on the side: It looks like her headpiece is taking her for a walk and not the other way around, she says Mette-Marit can use hairpieces at the side of her head but they have to be smaller
|
In the paper editions she says she thinks Mette-Marit always has elegant hair when wearing tiaras and always looks tasteful and appropriate for galas

I love her in curls. Especially when she wore that tiara and the pink dress. The one that is on the TRF Banner. She looks gorgeous there and with the nice buns. I liker her hair up or mostly out of her face. It looks really nice. When its down completely I think its to harsh on her face.

I think the most beautiful hairstyle she ever had was the one at her engagement or pre-wedding ball, when she wore that white hippie dress and had some white ribbons woven into her hair. It made her look very young and girlish. It's not the most regal of hairstyles, but I think it fit the occasion.
