I think she must be trying to develop the northwoods boho look entirely on her own. Because there is obvious thought and effort behind all those choices. I may not understand it - but I do see it as an effort.
I actually think they are both rocking the outdoor woodsy boho thing.

I think those are black suede boots, a dress, a coat, and a scarf with a contrasting print.

She actually looks great and not thrown together. Not everything has to be matchy-matchy!!

Enlarge the photo and you will see that they are definitely not black, but wide BROWN suede boots and very unattractive boots, at that! I dislike all matchy matchy as well, but this outfit is ridiculous.

MM at today's holocaust remembrance day
Surely there must be a nicer hat than a beanie to keep your head warm?

The scarf is worse than the beanie. Overall, the ensemble is unkempt.

Such a messy look. The ruffles collar, the pearl necklace, the scarf and the beanie, all don't work together.

So no. Not formal enough- does not look like a Princess.

Agree with other posters - not formal enough for the event. I agree you would want muted colours and the greys and black are good but you needed a nice suit or long coat and a more formal hat.

The outfit chosen is one that you would wear to the shops if you took away the necklace.

She could have worn a hat like Mathilde's. Didn't like it, but it was formal, and she would have stayed warm...

MMs look at the holocaust Remembrance Day is a full catastrophy. How does she manage to do SO wrong. All is wrong and not suitable neither to her rank nor to the occasion.
