Crown Princess Mathilde's Hats, Headwear and Hairstyles: October 2003 - July 2008
Ok, I stole this topic from Josephine
But I'm a big fan of hats and of Mathilde so... Let's see which hats she's been wearing these last years.
A photo of a still unknown Mathilde, before her engagement to prince Philippe of Belgium.
Around 1996, attending a wedding.

Posting photos directly on the board uses the bandwidth of the photo agencies. We don't want to do that and make them upset; therefore removing their pictures from public access. If you want to post a picture please use the Attach An Image feature (where you take it from your own hardrive) or just link to the picture.
Thank you!

Princess Mathilde's Hats, Headwear and Hairstyles
Here you can post pics that focus on Mathilde's hair style.
What do you like best? What are your comments?
Mathilde with quite long hair
Pulled back in a very nice way
A pretty chignon
Beautiful high chignon
A lower chignon
I think this is a bit too old fashioned for her.
On her engagement ball, very pretty.
Pulled back, a little bit curly
I'm not so fond of this hairstyle

the coloring's very nice here
her hair always looks neatly done, it's never messy.

The one picture on the first page of Mathilde's hair in a pony tail - that wasn't a good look for her, in my opinon. While it made her look younger (although I think that was a picture from very early in their relationship - i.e. post-engagement during their tour of Belgium but before the wedding), you can see how fine her hair really is with the ends of the ponytail.
When she has it just loosely framing her face or pinned up, her hair looks much thicker.

I think Mathilde looks best with her hair loose. This year she has done it much more than all the other years, and I'm happy about that, because it gives her a more natural look. But I heard that prince Philippe doesn't really like it very much that his wife has her hair loose in his presence. I don't know if it's true of course.

I don't believe that, which husband would complain about his wife having her hair loose? That's completely idiotic!

Mathilde does indeed look better, IMHO, with her hair down or loosely pulled back. It's quite severe when it's tightly pulled back.

I think Philip thought it is more official to have your hear in a tail. I think he prefers it too to see her hear loose, maybe he thougt that it was rather to sexy.... you'll never know

I think Mathilde's a grown up woman who can decide about her own hair.

Yes, there you have a point cathérine, she has left that girly thing she had when Philip showed her for the first time. After her pregnancy of Elisabeth, she is really a woman. And i think she knows very well what she's doing, and she's seems to be very clever.
