Ole Yde designed Princess Mary's blue-tiered gown she wore for Joachim and Marie's wedding.

It looks nice this new dress but again there appears to a difference in the dress code as the Queen isnt in a full lenght evening gown

I wondered about why QMII isn't wearing a floor-length gown too. So far, QMII and Princess Mary's outfits seems to be color-coordinated and complement one another but not tonight. QMII is the host for this dinner. Very strange that she chose a below-the-knee dress.

Mary's new dress 3 layers has been seen on couture runways almost by every couture designer in past seasons.
The dress is not bad but why have the black bow on teh shoulder which doesnt match and ruins the ruffle piece I find it also a bit too girly and boring. Maybe she needed to place a brooch on the side of the belt or something.

I agree, Dazzling. The black bow really would not have been necessary. The dress itself is lovely IMO, a brooch would have been great. The length of the Queens dress confuses me in comparison with Marys...

Agreed - a very nice variation of a frequently seen design, IF it wasn't for that black bow hanging from the shoulder.
It's totally out of place and ruins the soft top ruffle at the neckline.
Regardless, the gown will look beautiful once that black thing is torn off and tiara and orders are worn with it.

That's a stunning gown / look, I actually like the black bow / additions to the dress, saves it from being too white / boring.

I agree. It's hard to see how heavy the black bow fabric is. I'm sure the dress is sublime in person but difficult to translate in a photograph. Mary looks amazing. I love keeping up with her changing outfits everyday during the Vietnam visit.

She looks glamorous and elegant. It is a romantic dress, and the black bow is perfect as a contrast, because white and black is an elegant combination

I like the dress, but I agree that it would be nicer without the black bow. It looks rather stange on this gown. The shape of the dress is especially beautiful, I quite like the rufles on the skirt and the waist shase/belt. The top part isn´t so good, IMO, but overall a quite nice gown.
And about the Quenn dress, well, it´s a short dress, but the fabric and shape looks like a gala one, so I don´t think she´s underdressed. Just IMO

Hmmm, this dress reminds me the Queen's style.
It's nice if not this bow...

The gown is gorgeous! I like it the way it is, with the black bow

I love the dress, but think she is a bit overdressed compared to the Queen, she would suit well at the Oscars in an outfit like this. The other thing I noticed that she has worn two quite revealing outfits, e.g off the shoulder...is this suited for a country like Vietnam? Is there protocol around how much flesh can be revealed?
