I would like to see how is the pink dress on the top, i do not like so much the dark jacket on top. but one thing i do not like eventhought i know it is protocoll, it is the glovs this thing about shaking hands with the gloves on, it make it too cold for me, i mean they do not enter in skin contact with the people, like they do not wnat germs on them, i don't know it might be only me, but if it was me i take my gloves on and i really shake the hand with the people, after i put a hand sanitizer and tha't is!!!
 
I like the pink gown, Mary always looks gorgeous in pink. Maybe her gloves, instead of being white, could have been a light pink to match her gown so the gown, white gloves and dark jacket wouldn't present such a contrast with one another. Royal women generally remove their glove from the right hand and greet visitors with the ungloved hand, with some Royal exceptions such as Queen Elizabeth.:flowers:

I actually one of the photos that I saw she was greeting the people and shaking the hands with her gloves on, i will try to find it and post here

Mary use to have one glove off but this time round she kept them on.

I like the dress. I think she looks better in it then the last time she wore it.
Maybe it is because I like her hair much better now. ;)
The dress is fine and the gloves make her look quite elegant.

I adore that suit :wub: At this event CP always looking very well. Totally elegant. Great hairstyle and these long gloves are gorgeous.

Very 'princess', so not in Mary's style. I like the color of skirt, but the whole outfit is not the best.
 
I love the "Sissi" style on Mary, I think she looks very regal and "oldfashioned royal", what is the style of the occasion. It would look ridiculous and over the top at most other events but not at the New Year procedures (including a carriage ride etc).

At first I thought that the jacket was dark purple what would have gone well with the light pink but at a closer look it seems to be dark brown, too harsh and not a good choice at all since Freds uniform is black.

The jacket does seem to be dark brown. I like the style of the gown with the jacket, but not the colors together and next to Prince Fred black uniform. The jacket in a dark pink would have been better fashion sense.

BTW:The gloves make the whole look even worst by throwing in another color.:);):)

The gloves are part of the protocol and tradition at this event; nothing to do with things being too cold. You'll just have to accept it for being what it is.;)
 
Maybe the pink dress is strapless??? Or it could be just a skirt??? I don't know...we'll have to see if its recycled again!
 
may be the top of the dress is brown too?
 
I don't think the dress is a skirt and jacket.
I do think the gloves match and the jacket looks wonderful, but I wish it was warmer and she wouldn't of worn the jacket. :flowers:
 
I am more in love with this look the more I see it so thanks for keeping the topic going I am even more crazy for the shopping expedition outfit would love to know were the fur comes from. Imagine the girl from Tassie never thought she would be wearing fur getting away with it and loving it.
 
I love Mary, but today I don't like the shoes with the troussers...
I like very much the jacket!

Not impressive, nothing really matches. As so often, the trousers look ill fitted and the pattern is a bit clownish. The animal print shoes also ruin this outfit (as they have done before with this one): http://www.ppe-agency.com/500px/Dec2009/PPE09120978.jpg - I wonder why she keeps mismatching with this specific pair of shoes that would look good with a black or beige outfit.
 
I agree with you Duke of Marmalade. CP Mary's last outfit was not her best. I really don't like it when royals (or non royals for that matter) mismatch patterns. I disliked the pants the most. I don't like patterns on pants, and in Mary's case, they were unflattering on her. The reddish jacket was nice, and I thought the shoes were pretty and trendy, but clashed horribly with the outfit. Her grey long skirt and jacket was simply perfect on her. I liked the pink flowy skirt of the formal gown she wore, and the fit of the brown velvet jacket was nice, but I agree with many of you the color was wrong, and too I think the fabric as well.
 
Is the jacket too burgundy for the trousers the shoes only complicate things....
 
The outfit is just ok. Don't mind the print on the pants, but the shoes are a miss.

I quite agree. I like the colours and the parts of this outfit separately but together it's not an excellent match.
I believe the shoes must be worn to a clear and unicolored/plain outfit as an eye-catcher.
 
I like the jacket a lot. But, that's it! I am not a huge fan of plaid pants, especially when they're worn with animal print heels. The looks becomes busy such as the case with Mary. I don't know why she likes to pair her animal print heels with patterned oufits or ones already having a busy design, such as the blue skirt suit she'd worn earlier. The heels should be worn with a simply cut skirt or pant suit in order to perk up or accent the outfit.
 
Like the colour of suit, preferably not with the shoes.
 
The pants dont fit too well but they do look good overall with the beautiful orange/red jacket which im really liking with the high collar on the sides.
Hair is boring but it does work really well with the jacket.
 
what color are the pants? the looks like they're pink and purple to me
 
The jacket is lovely and I think the hair is okay.
I really don't like the cut of the pants. They don't look good with the jacket and don't look especially nice on Mary at all.
The shoes... well imo they don't match the pants at all.
