The dress seems out of place to me. She looks great, but it seems an odd choice for a day look?

Mary looked fantastic at the photosession in that long summery dress.
She's for sure never boring looking at and manages to surprise (in the good way) almost every time IMO. The dress looks a bit wide around her belly indeed, but maybe it's not the dress (probably just wishful thinking, I know) :p

Here are pictures of the dress:

I'm into maxi dresses this summer so I'm love this strong colored dress. Very pretty.

Mary looks great. I didn't notice the wideness of her dress until it was pointed out on this thread. That shade of green suits her a lot.

Perish the thought! Mary is 42 years old and has more than fulfilled her duty by providing 4 heirs to the Danish throne! She and Frederik already have their hands full 4 times over!!!!!:whistling:

Magnificent dress, very beautiful family.
A little large in the belly though... who is the designer?

Not a big fan of this dress - I think she has a few nicer maxi ones. Can see the hem becoming damaged very quickly.

I love Mary's dress. The color is lovely, and the style is flattering.

I fail to see where Mary's dress looks big around her tummy area. It is just a lovely feminine dress which looks very comfortable and appropriate for the summer shoot. Yummy color... She also has the best accessories possible with her children and her hunky husband! :)

love love this dress..mary looks fab..and i like that she always wears something we do not expect..that's why her style is always so exciting to see :)

Mary yesterday at the annual Mary Foundation's 'Free Of Bullying' children's relay race, Copenhagen.
Wearing a dove blue silk top and black silk pants (sort of harem pants?) and ballerinas shoes in gold and silver:

Mary looks great. I like the colour of her blouse in particular. The only thing I don't like about her outfit is her ballerinas. I've never been a fan of studs though, so that could be why.

I think her dress for the day was perfect for the occasion. If she had been "Professional Princess" I think she would not have been able to connect to the children so easily and walking across grass in heels would just have looked plain silly.

Her top was beautiful and very feminine without being fussy and her almost harem style pants left plenty of room to crouch right down to eye level with the kids. Likewise her flats, perfect for both the grass and the kids.

I love the blue top, along with the slacks and flats. The outfit is professional, yet still comfortable.

I like the blouse and I like the skirt but I don't like them together. I think the skirt needs a lighter color to work. I also think it's too short.

Mary looks ravishing! Adore this summery pleated floral skirt. And the simple black shirt into the skirt makes it look feminine and summery. A true Mary outfit IMO and it's sits perfectly on her enviable figure.

Marys hair looks so pretty. I love the color. I always like it lighter like this.

I love both pieces, but I'm not sure I like them together... The navy looks so dark and is such a stark difference with the floral skirt. Still, Mary manages to pull it off and looks lovely, as usual. She is incredible..

I feel the same way as you. I like both pieces on their own, although am not sure they work that well together. For me, it's hard to find tops that look just right with floral skirts though, but perhaps white or a light pink/yellow blouse would've been better.

Agree with several posters above that the pieces are good but not together. Hard to find the right top for that skirt, it is gorgeous

Very nice from what I can see of it, like the shape and material of the blouse

I really don't like either of these outfits I think the D&G skirt is too "floral" and I think that this print is really difficult to wear the top iss too heavy in colour and the look is confused IMO.
I like the lastest outfit but not together the top is more for pants IMO.
