Actually...Crown Princess Mary is wearing her first New Year's Court dress from 2006 which has been modified (the long train is gone).

Is it really the same? I thought the upper part, especially the sleeves, looked new, but I may be wrong.

It looks a little bit like a bathrobe or housecoat to me, but it's probably a throwback to the days when this is what women wore all the time.

LOVE IT. That looks like silk satin to me. Notice all the buttons on the forearms. Also on the bodice near the shoulder, asian-inspired.
Love the rich winter fabrics, velvet, silk satin, must be very slim to look well in them!

I think Mary looked fantastic today. I find the dress elegant and apropriate for the even, she looks regal, and the colour is amazing. I like that she keeps it simple and doesn´t look like a "Christmas tree" with all her jewells on (that´s a thing I hate) and above all, I love the simple hairdo from today, I hope she will continue with this kind of hairstyles instead of the old-fashioned and severe ones that doesn´t favours her face.

Yip! Same dress but modified...the first time she wore it was January 1, 2006. It looks so much better this time around (CP Mary is a bit thinner and athletic) and more appropriate for the second New Year's Court than the first New Year's Court!

She had only given birth to Prince Christian 3 months before she wore it the first time, so yes she is thinner this time.
I love this dress, gorgeous colour, pretty sleeves and elegant. Her hair looks lovely like this too.

I am not crazy about this dress but I must admit she looks lovely and it is nice colour , simple and the jewelery complete this look very well
just i am surprsie she doesnt get a new dress she gets them modified, and certenly the seamstress does and esquisite job and Terri Terri, we are 2 now I want her seamstress too sooooo......badly!!!!!!may be we are lucky and somebody here knows who she is!??

I like this silver dress.the hairdo is lovely from the front side but I am not sure about the back side.About the blue dress,I like the old version,the train was made the look of the dress more glamorous.I wished I saw at least one new dress from Mary for one of the new year courts.

Love it! Dress, hairstyle, all very flattering on Mary. For me, this dress is one of the best she owns and I dont mind her recycling it for the next 40 years!

In the second picture which shows part of the up do, the up do looks quite messy or was done quick, though the front view looks great! Ive always loved this outfit and its one she sure could wear for the next 20 years.

Another very lovely look from Mary. Her latest gowns are relatively simple, which allows her to add her own embellishments in the from of jewels, or what have you. Thank you for sharing the pictures.

I guess it's just me cause I didn't care too much for the royal blue gown. It was way to much blue, had an Asian flair and I just don't think it flattered her.

The cut and fabric are gorgeous, but I would have liked a string of pearls or choker or something around the neck, looks bare.
Love the 3/4 sleeves and gloves.
