The blouse with the long necklace looks pretty. Wish I could see if she's wearing jeans or trousers here! Maybe later.
I agree with you. Too much going on, with the ruffles, the necklace and the neck tag thing. I am not keen on Mary in navy at all.Close up
The top is unflattering, too much going with the ruffles on teh front, the elastic band on the waist which for some odd reason decided to wear a belt which looked all wrong.
I found this outfit very casual.

I really do not like the Jackie O look, first time I do not like her look, too old looking for her age, to stiff, the gloves thing is a mistery for me, why use them in this hit?
the hair the glases and the shoes like them
I am surprise not gala dress and event?

For some reason this coat looks quit ematernity wear, maybe its becasue she wore it in her last pregnancies.
I think the outfit is ok, but I'm not so sure about the hat, only her and her ladies in waiting are wearing them. I don't know what the protocol says about when to wear or when not to wear a hat, but IMO this time the hat was too much, because the event was mainly indoor
I think I read somewhere that when you go to church, you wear a hat or cover your hair.
Nowadays people don't do this as a must anymore. Probably royals are more traditional than everyone else.
In catholic tradition women used to wear a veil, but not a full hat.She is protestant, so it wouldn't apply and I hadn't seen her attending other services with her head covered
I don't recall having seen queen Margrethe visiting a church in an official capacity without wearing a hat. IMO, it is only natural if Mary takes her cue from the queen.
