I don't think he'll get a job for the Danish royal family ever again. Didn't he design Alexandra's dress? How hard is it to remember her name, he is a Dane, after all.

No, he didn't design her dress. I think, it was the late Jørgen Bender, who made her dress.
Actually I had never heard of Uffe Frank until he made the wedding dress for Mary.

Since we are taking about mary's fashion here is a link about* the man who gives her fashion Danish designer Uffe Frank. He talks about Mary and making the wedding dress.*

Does anyone know the source - www.fashionweekdaily.com? It really seems so odd, that the designer would give such statements.
If he really said this, I doubt that he would ever get a job for the danish royal family again.
I don't know... it might be legit or it might not. The site itself is haphazardly done (even if I can't work photoshop, I know that their banner looks really cut-and-paste! :P ) .
The person being interviewed also said Prince Phillip was sent by QEII; but it was Edward. This also doesn't sound like a designer talking "There must be a sleeve of some kind. I made a ¾ sleeve with a petal detail ". I think he would call it by its proper name. Furthermore, it wasn't really "petal detailing"... doesn't "detailing" refer to embroidery etc (not cut/style)?
But perhaps this was the clincher "I met her through friends who know her well." Uffe Frank is not totally unkown to the Danish royal family - he a black gown for QM previously. I'm convinced that it was that connection, as opposed to meeting Mary through some friends, that led to Uffe Frank being offered the job.

Earlier I wrote the name of the danish designer: Kent Fredin. The dress was made especially for Mary, so it's not possible to buy it, until someone makes a copy that is....

Your welcome. Someone reminded me - I couldn't remember. It really was a nice outfit, but I must admit that I love when she wears outfitts that are not to classic, because I like her personal style. However I can't remember that she has ever worn anything I didn't like. :P

Mary has the most style of all the European royalty. She is contemporary and never dowdy. She is definitely a leader in fashion.

Im sorry to say she dsnt have the style of "ALL EUROPEAN ROYALTY" there are some royaltys who are well or should say better dressed than Crown Princess Marry. For example, Crown princess Letizia of spain, Princess Mathilda of Belgium..

Misally:
I think you should visit the Spain royality forum on LTR, and you will see by youself how stylish is Letizia: choice of color, cut of the outfits and how she handles herself and you will change your statement (if you can be objective of course)

Plus Crown Princess Maxima, Princess Caroline of Monaco, Princess Claire of Beligum, Princess Alexandra of Denmark.
Mary's still finding her way around in terms of personal style and fashion sense. To say that her style right now beats the other princesses of Europe hands down or that even Mary is a leader in fashion in comparison to these other ladies is much too premature and a major joke. I would harldy call wearing a macrame belt around your waist like what one used to hang plants with in the 80s as style.
The macrame belt was a little odd. Not her best day, IMHO.
Frankly, although she's not my favorite, the only one of all the Princesses that is close to what one would call an international fashion or style icon is Princess Caroline of Monaco. Icons don't just follow trends--like the elegant and always very well-dressed Marie Chantal--they set trends. Only time will tell if Mary or Letizia--the two newest of the bunch--will become fashion icons. The others, if they haven't yet begun to emerge as such, it's unlikely they will.

obviously you don't follow Princess Mathilde ... too bad .... now she has style !!!
|
I agree she has style--and since this is a Mary thread I think Mary generally dresses nicely--but I understood the topic to be fashion leaders or icons. I think there is a difference between being well-dressed and with style and being a leader or fashion icon. And it's only my opinion that most of the royals do not fit the bill for "fashion leader or icon", but many are very stylish. That's all.

We have a thread in the CP Mary MB about Mary recycling her clothes. Because if you look closely at what Mary's wearing, you realise that she doesn't always get a new outfit from head to toe - for example, her excellent outfit in Aarhus during the Summer Tour consisted of a new coat and dress (well we haven't seen it before), but the hat was previously worn at the Melbourne Cup in 2002, the bag had also been worn previously, and I think the shoes have been as well!
Thanks to nada, fashionista and Alisa who found some of these!!
Anyway, enough talking, and more posting!~
