It is quiet windy right now and it is a really unpleasant and strong wind :( It goes straight through a wool coat...

As to the hair you're right and I think we can put the blame on the wind. The weather in Europe is currently unpredictable!

To contrary, here Maxima did everything wrong. The coat does not go w/her outfit and doesn't match the occasion. It would be good if she went skiing.

You must not live where the winters can be brutally cold. When it gets bitterly cold, any coat that can keep you reasonably warm will do. Once I had to attend a very formal event and I wore my clunky, but so warm boots, carried my pumps and borrowed my brother's Air Force parka. My escort howled with laughter, but I wasn't the only woman dressed as I was. The temperature was -11 below F at eight pm that night. You do what you have to do.

I think that it's weird though if it is that cold and she needs to turn up looking like she's going skiing why isn't she wearing any gloves. It's either just that cold or she could wear and glamorous and also awarm coat. Just doesn't add up.IMO

You're absolutely right Kartianna.
However, IMO she should have either put on some very warm formal coat or replace the high-heel shoes with boots. That would look better.

Very true, I can't believe that in Maxima's entire wardrobe, there wasn't a nicer coat for her to wear. In all reality, European Princesses usually get out of the car and walk a few feet or several feet at the most, to enter the building, not like most of us who have to walk several blocks to get where we're going.

Well, it is cold enough to freeze even if you have to walk only a few feet.

Princess Maxima attended the 85th anniversary of the foreign press association (BPV) at the Stadsarchief in Amsterdam.

She is. I don't know if it's the colors or what, but I'm not too excited about this outfit. It's not horrible or even bad, but it strikes me as so-so. Maybe I'm the one who's off today.

The hair is really nice in a ponytail, nice for a change IMO.
I dont remember seeing Maxima in flats at an official event but she does have the height to pull it off

Nothing special this time. The colours do match but the overall look appears too brownish. All in all, rather boring.

The colour is okay but still I'm not so keen on her outfit.

In many parts it is but the forecasts for the next weeks doesn't seem to change much so we will still have many opportunities to see Maxima in winter stuff.

Not a bad outfit. The boots aren't my favorite though and I'm not big on the leather for clothing unless it's a jacket.
