Well at least it's not another lace dress.
The dress is nice for someone who like Kelly Osbourne or some young edgy/gothic celebrity who is trying to add some elegance by wearing a dress. Not for mid 30s professional mother of 2.

I don't know, ladies. It seems to me that this time her platforms were much more elegant than her dress. How did she wear a dress with external zippers?Like the teenagers that wear blouses with zippers on the sleeves...Come on,there are million of dresses for Letizia to choose.

yes I agree
I don't find her dress exceptionnal, the details (zips) are cheap looking, i saw Princess Letizia so much more classy than with this teenager dress ....i am so nostalgic about her first look, much more elegant, fancy, discret : fantastic trousers or skirts suits....

Thank you, ikram!I'm sure she can hire a better stylist. She can have anyone she wants.

This is a beautiful outfit. Last time she had a different tiara. Her hairdo is very beautiful.

Her hair is lovely at the gala dinner

i really like this skirt and beaded top combo on Letizia its very Spanish and great to see her recycling it - 5th time for the skirt (from memory the skirt was first seen during thier trip to the usa in 2004 and has been worn at the 25th wedding anniversary in lux july 2006, dinner during the visit by portugal in spetember 2006 just after the announcement of her pregnancy with sofia and was last seen at a gala dinner in december 2007 worn with the beaded top)

Part of the outfit is spoilt with her awful platform shoes - but i really didnt expect anything less on her feet

I don't know what all the fuss is about in regards to her shoes. Yes, they are a bit platform-y (I know that isn't a word:lol:) but they don't look in no way to be stripper shoes! Has anyone seen a picture of what stripper shoes look like? I think her heels are kinda cute. But I wish she would start wearing her Pedro Garcia's like she used to.

She looks very elegant.

She looks wonderful! Love the outfit, but her hair is what I like the most. It looks just stunning.

I love Letizia's hairdo.

About the dress: I always loved the skirt, but never liked the top. ;)

The skirt is very beautiful. I saw a large close-up picture of it when she wore it for their US trip. The detail on the skirt is magnificent.

looks like it went as a loan to panama's first lady who's wearing a stunning blue gown ...

instead of wearing it herself letizia keeps repeating her old frocks, this one for the fifth time. the skirt is not bad but the top belongs to the cheap looking varela galawear-line. i am still waiting for the day felipe will provide his wife with a gown that is worthy to the occasion of a state dinner.

the only detail i really like is the hair, one of her best tiara-hairdo's for ages.

Nice and really regale hairdo!
I like the skirt with the train, but I don't like those colours and the pattern, and they don't match the colour of the sash!
Terrible shoes!
I can't see it well, please, could you tell me if the skirt is black and white or blue and white?

This is the first hairdo I've seen on her that I really liked. It compliments her face wonderfully!

Very beautiful!
I really like this skirt... very Spanish. The top is good for me, and her face looks lovely with this hairstyle:flowers:

the dress is black and white - though in some pictures the skirt almost appears to be black and silver

I love the skirt. The top is too old fashioned and bland, looks like something my grandma wore in the 80s. I prefer a top similar to Rania's white Prada lacey top she wore in Spain.

She has worn the skirt with 3 different tops - here is a reminder
Personally my favourite is the back one worn at the private dinner in luxembourg

clearly a Varela creation

Best hair-do/tiara combo I've seen in a long time. At least her hair is not noticably stiff and dry with hair spray and this gala hair-do does not age her.
The outfit is blah - the top looks too big and does not compliment the skirt.
Thr recent appearance of dressy black platform shoes: All of these have light colored soles which really stand out, destroy the look of the shoe (especially when she pairs them with black tights) and scream "cheap shoes"
Good designer shoes would have black soles. Lately all of Letizia's shoes look cheap and trashy.
Her evening outfits leave alot to be desired. The short gunmetal gray dress with the zippers would have looked much better with beading instead of the zippers.

oh no, that dress again. i was hoping to see her in the dress she wore at charles' birthday. i thought the first time that it was lovely, but she recycled it too much and always with ill-looking tops. the first time it looked excellent in the satin white shirt, but the rest... :bang:

wouldn't any of these have been a better choice?

I love the white dress in the third picture. I have never seen it before, and it was absolutely beautiful.

I also loved that white dress that she wore at Prince W-A's 40th Birthday bash -- amazing, if you look back at the comments about it, most people wrote finding fault with it at the time.

i am with you, the black top looked best. the wrap around silver top was also worn in october 2006 during the reception of honour for the portuguese president, shortly after the announcement that sofia was on the way. imo it looked too big and does not really suit the skirt.

i agree same varela-style. the pink version looks even worse, very cheap & 80's. especially the colour makes the top look like a relict from the 80's soap trunk, like dallas, dynasty or miami vice.

:previous:
I don't like those trousers on her, but the jacket and the shirt look nice, IMO!

Thanks for the answer PrincessofEurope!:flowers:
