Any chair on which a Sovereign sits is correctly reffered to as a throne, just to let you know, though the Special Throne are very beautiful, especially Queen Elizabeth II's chair of estate.

The Coronation chair of great britan is also called St Edwards chair. To be quite honest that is its actual name. The big white rock at the bottom of the chair is called the stone of scone (I think) one of the kings slepped on that rock and then when he return to power in england he imbedded it in to the coronation chair

Yes Mark it is called Stone of Scone..here are some info.

This throne was designed especially to hold the famous Stone of Scone, captured from Scotland a few years before 1300. It has been used ever since for the coronation of England's kings and queens. Besides its unusual stone feature, the throne is typical of high medieval furniture. It is designed of simply joined posts and panels, ornamented with a few architectural motifs -- arches, quatrefoils, and gables -- and richly covered with repeating patterns in gold and other colors.
