its seems like it would be a small comfortable home for him. Unlike the palaces. It will be relaxing for him.

I agree that the house in Wales will be the smallest one of the Prince´s homes, ( although it´s not his private home, but a ´Duchy of Cornwall property´) but also Clarence House, Birkhall and above all Highgrove are not homes or houses i would call palaces.

Is Prince Charles the first POW to actually have a home in Wales? Why did some people in the area initially oppose his building a home? I know that Edward VIII spoke to the Welsh miners--did he speak to them in their native language? Is Prince Charles the only royal so familar with the language and customs of Wales?

I don't think Edward VIII ever learned Welsh. Pretty sure Charles isn't fluent in it - it's a hell of a language for native English speakers to learn. From what I can gather, he spent some time getting acquainted with the language, but that's a far cry from being a fluent Welsh speaker. I think Charles is the first modern-era Prince of Wales to have a home there, although Prince Arthur (son of Henry VII) spent a lot of time at Ludlow Castle on the Welsh border and actually died there.
As for protests, I'm not sure about the reason, but I know a lot of Welsh people aren't happy about English folk (and to the Welsh, Charles counts as English despite his title) buying holiday and weekend homes in Wales and pricing the locals out of the real estate market. There's also a fairly militant republican Welsh nationalist group, which tried to disrupt Charles's investiture, and they might also be causing problems.

I really am getting fed up with the different news accounts on the Royals. With their inacturate articles - how will we know the truth. I choose to believe it is their new holiday home.
I don't know if I like the painting of the original brick to white. I don't fine that very interesting, but I am glad that the Prince of Wales now has a Welch residence.

I think you misunderstood me, The Prince of Wales release say's that the separate three bedroom house will be their accommodation when they are in Wales, ie their holiday home and will not be available for others to rent.
The article from the Mail says that it will be available to rent by other people as a holiday home
From the Prince of Wales website -
Quote:

The unit includes a large dining room, lounge and a three bedroom residential unit. There is also an extra dwelling for ancillary accommodation on the West Range of the property. Occasionally, when the property is not in use by Their Royal Highnesses, or The Prince’s Charities, the barn and the ancillary accommodation will be used as holiday lets

I more believe in the PoW website as in the Mail , but i can´t imagine that the royal couple would have released all these pics, from bedrooms, bathroom etc. if this part of the property is only their private welsh home and not available to rent for others.

I think the photographs are of the rooms & property that will be available for rent when the royal couple aren't in residence. I don't think that the press & photographers were actually allowed in to the couple's residence. In fact I think that the BBC Wales report actually expressly said that. Presumably Clarence House thought it would be too dangerous to allow someone from the DM in to the couple's bedroom. After all to go by the Mail's past behaviour they might have planted a listening bug in!

One of the above articles actually says that the photo's are not from their private residence.
Quote:
Parts of the sprawling West Wales home – off-limits to the public – will provide private quarters for the Prince and the Duchess of Cornwall during royal engagements in the nation.
But the images here show the luxurious holiday accommodation that will both be rented out as holiday accommodation when the Royal couple are not there,
