I have heard nothing here in the UK about moles (neither furry ones nor the spying sort) at Amner Hall - is there a link anywhere?

I think I will take my chances in N. America with the bears and its other carnivores. They aren't usually waiting outside the door to kill me ?

Darn! I can't find any articles about the mole attacks either. Sun Lion, what is your source?
GIRL ABOUT TOWN: Dad's old farmhouse? Bling it on, says Zara | Daily Mail OnlineJust saw your post Roslyn.
The report is under "Girl About Town: Dad's old farmhouse? Bling it on, says Zara" by Charlotte Griffiths.
(This is about Zara's new home.)
Then the moles at Anmer Hall - a few lines in bold.
(Just before the bit about George and Amal Clooney.)
Are they likely to ever take on a third residence before he is Duke of Cornwall?

Didn't William have a cottage called, in Gaelic, Tam-na-Ghar, which was located on the Balmoral estate, when he was a student at St Andrews? I think the Cambridges stay at either Birkhall or Balmoral these days when they are up in Scotland, which isn't very often, though I believe William sometimes goes up by himself to shoot with his father and brother.
If it was on the Balmoral Estate why would the Queen Mother give it to William rather than the Queen?
The cottage was 3 bedroom and not very small.
Supposing the Cambridges retain their two current dwellings when they are Duke and Duchess of Cornwall, and also gain Highgrove and possibly Birkhall, are they likely to retain Anmer as their main family home rather than Highgrove, as their children will have grown to know Norfolk.
Yes, I don't recommend Owen's method of controlling moles. They seem rather sweet to me. I wish I only had moles to contend with at my place instead of the Eastern Brown Snakes, and those rather nasty, very large and aggressive bulldog ants that inflict a very painful bite that hurts for days.
I await more news on the Anmer moles.
I think the best aspect of Anmer Hall is that it most likely is going to be a secure residence that will be passed on through the monarchy for as long as there is a monarch from the House of Windsor. Although the Sandringham (like Balmoral) estate is owned by the Queen personally and not tied into the Crown Estates, a lot of history surrounds the Sandringham estate itself. Diana, Princess of Wales grew up at Park House on the estate which is why it was mentioned so often that Princess Charlotte was christened at the same church that Diana was.
Although William and Kate live at Apt 1A at Kensington Palace and their country home at Anmer Hall, they actually do not own the properties but have the use of them. If things go as they are now, eventually William will own the Sandringham estate itself as the monarch.
Another historical fact that I find interesting about Sandringham is that when Edward VIII abdicated the throne and claimed to be broke, his brother George VI actually bought the Sandringham estate. I forget the exact details of this but I'm sure its available easily with our friend Google.
