Berkeley Castle

The oldest surviving building at Berkeley Castle is the round keep, completed in 1153 by Robert Fitz-Harding, 1st Lord Berkeley. Lord Berkeley received the estate from King Henry II.

One of my favourite castles. It is in Gloucestershire and is where Edward II was held captive and allegedly murdered

in this picture, there is the medieval and the Tudor combined (tudor windows and chimneys)

This is the Great Hall

And you can hire the Castle for your wedding or party if you wish!

Cepe, I especially like the picture of the Tudor windows and chimneys.

A succession of monarchs, from Henry VII and Elizabeth I to George IV, had been entertained in the Great Hall of Berkeley Castle.
