Court Circular 17th June:
Windsor Castle

The Queen, accompanied by The Prince of Wales, The Duke of York, The Earl of Wessex, The Princess Royal, The Duke of Gloucester, The Duke of Kent and Princess Alexandra, the Hon Lady Ogilvy, today held a Chapter of the Most Noble Order of the Garter in the Throne Room, Windsor Castle.

The Queen later gave a Luncheon Party for the Companions of the Most Noble Order of the Garter at which The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall, The Duke of York, The Earl and Countess of Wessex, The Princess Royal and Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, The Duke of Kent and Princess Alexandra, the Hon Lady Ogilvy were present.

The Duke of Kent, Patron, Wigmore Hall, this evening attended the Leeds Lieder Gala Concert at Wigmore Hall, 36 Wigmore Street, London W1.

The Duke of Kent this afternoon departed from Heathrow Airport, London, for Serbia and was received this afternoon upon arrival at Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport by Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the Republic of Serbia (His Excellency Mr Denis Keefe).
Mr Nicholas Turnbull is in attendance.

Last week the Duke of Kent paid a visit to Serbia.

As President of of the Commonwealth War Graves Commission he visited the cemetery in Belgrade:

St James’s Palace

The Duke of Kent this morning laid a rose at the Elsie Inglis Memorial Plaque, Elsie Inglis House, Belgrade, and was received by Her Majesty's Ambassador to the Republic of Serbia (His Excellency Mr. Denis Keefe).

His Royal Highness, President, Commonwealth War Graves Commission, afterwards laid a wreath at Belgrade War Cemetery, Svetog Nikole Street, Belgrade.

The Duke of Kent, on behalf of Her Majesty's Government and the British Council, later marked the presentation of a codable computer to the Museum of Science and Technology, 51 Dobracina Street, Belgrade.

The Duke of Kent this morning visited the Royal Palace, Belgrade, Serbia, and was received by Crown Prince Alexander Karadjordjevic.

His Royal Highness later attended a debate on reconciliation given by the Chevening Society at Elsie Inglis House, Belgrade.

The Duke of Kent, Grand Master, United Grand Lodge of England, this afternoon attended a Meeting of the Serbian Grand Lodge at the Crown Plaza Hotel, 10 Vladimira Popovica Street, Belgrade.

His Royal Highness, Grand Master, United Grand Lodge of England, this evening attended a Gala Dinner at the Crown Plaza Hotel to celebrate the One Hundredth Anniversary of the Serbian Grand Lodge.

The Duke of Kent this afternoon opened the Cereal Innovation Centre, Morning Foods Limited, Gresty Road, Crewe, and was received by Mr. John Lea (Deputy Lieutenant of Cheshire).

His Royal Highness later visited British Salt Limited, Cledford Lane, Middlewich, on the occasion of their Fiftieth Anniversary and was received by Her Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of Cheshire (Mr. David Briggs).

The Duke of Kent afterwards visited Bentley Motors Limited, CW1 House, Pyms Lane, Crewe.

His Royal Highness this afternoon presented The Queen’s Awards for Enterprise at a Reception at Lenton House, University Park, Nottingham.

The Duke of Kent this morning visited Crayford Town Centre to commemorate the first non-stop flight across the Atlantic Ocean in 1919 by John Alcock and Arthur Whitten Brown and was received by Major David Hewer (Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London).

His Royal Highness today planted a tree at Hall Place and Gardens, Bourne Road, Bexley, in commemoration of the first non-stop flight across the Atlantic Ocean in 1919 by John Alcock and Arthur Whitten Brown.

This week in Crayford, The Duke of Kent celebrated the 100th Anniversary of the first transatlantic flight.
In 1919, John Alcock & Arthur Whitten-Brown flew 16.5 hours from Canada to Ireland in a modified Vickers Vimy bomber, originally designed in the Vickers factory.
