I read on Prince Michael's website that he and the Princess will attend the Guildhall Banquet.

His Royal Highness does seem to enthusiastically embrace the opportunity to addent state visit banquest. (I understand why), but he always gives the impression as though Her Majesty has treated him to it... curious

Will Camilla wear the Delhi Durbar tiara again or will she sport a different one and shock us all? I think the DD has become her trademark tiara but you never can tell.

I don't think the Duchess can be back in time for the State Banquet though, Beatrixfan as i think she still has an engagement in San Francisco with the Prince of Wales today, so she would be still on the air while the State Banquet taking place.

Ah! Thanks QueenElizabethII. I thought that C and C were back today in time for the Banquet tonight but I'm mixed up with dates!

I thought it was one of life's truisms that a lady can never have too many tiaras.

I think an America/England flight would only be about 12 hours? by jet. I wouldn't know as I've never taken a flight from America to England. But, they should have been back in time.

We will see. Btw no information about C&C presents today?

Thats what I thought Layla. I mean, they're not taking the QE2 home are they? They'll be flying. And if the banquet's not until 7 or 8 O'Clock, they might be able to do it.

BeatrixFan maybe they come if they wouldn't be very tired after long flight:D

Re:

Well they would be tired of course, but a good dinner, a few speeches and a bit of a boogie with the Chinese President wouldn't be too much to ask would it?

Bad planning. They should have cut the US short by a day.

Do they acually boogie at these things?

Oh that's just an exaggeration, but I don't think anything more than a waltz is called for or accepted at these things!:)

Since the UK is eight hours ahead of the US west coast and the trip from the west coast to Heathrow is around ten hours, there's no way they'll get back today if they leave today. I wonder why their trip overlapped like that - perhaps the Queen didn't want Camilla's headgear to be the main focus of a dinner during a state visit.

Re:

Of Course. No State Visit is complete without a grand Hokey-Cokey. ;)

Maybe it wasn't ncecessary for Charles and Camilla to attend. I'm sure there will be more for them to attend.

Having seen the speed and vigour some people put into their waltzing, the best thing to do is sit it out!:D

Wel, meeting with one president in the past week is probably enough to expect of them!;)

And here are some more from Day 1 (arrival and welcoming ceremony), from Polfoto and Getty. The Princess Royal was the one who greeted the Presidential couple at the airport. I find the picture of the Queen reading that note very cute and a bit funny. I wonder what it said! :) Does anyone know how old (or if it is) the Princess Royal's outfit is, and if/when she has worn it before?

I don't believe the Princess Royal has purchased any new clothing for at least 15 years. I would peg that ensemble at around 1987..... :-D
