Thanks for the info. I had thought all guests and wifes sat on the same row as the Queen.

It's too bad we didn't get to see the other royal ladies. The Court Circular said that The Duchess of Cornwall, The Princess Royal, The Countess of Wessex, The Duchess of Gloucester, and Princess Michael of Kent were present.

It is too bad. In the past, you would see pics of the other royal ladies. But that was before Charles and his brothers married. Now its like they don't even bother, or there are so many pics its hard to find them all.

But it is the normal course of life. As the next generation comes to prominence the others for lack of a saying...aren't just that important. So when William marries, and starts to attend these events. Its going to be about Kate (or whomever) and Camilla ----- Sophie could do cartwheels on the table and she might not get a mention.

I presume it is her version of the hijab. She is Muslim, after all.

On another matter, I think she's wearing Chanel this morning. Those boots remind me of the fall 2010 ready to wear collection (the fur and everything) but I can't find them during a quick glance at Style.com. The heel of the boot is quite distinctive. Anyone got a better idea?

Qatar's Emir, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani and his wife Sheikha Mozah at a banquet held in the Emir's honour at the Guildhall in the City of London, England, on October 27, 2010. Queen Elizabeth II hosted a lavish state banquet to welcome the emir of Qatar to Britain, as her husband showed off his charming side to the Gulf ruler's wife.

Another successful State visit, and Sheikh Hamad looks quite nice when he smiles. The Sheikha is always gorgeous, haven't seen a bad photo of her yet. She always looks stylish, elegant and classy. I love her head wear, (don't know the name of it) but it adds elegance to her overall look. At 51 yrs she is a stunning looking woman and I just realized she reminds me a little of the actress Rachel Welch.

Mozah seeks top medical researchers’ expertise

...“There’s a fever of research in Qatar but I worry about fevers because fevers burn out. We live in an interconnected world and we must build on what we have and learn how to use the past as a tool to rekindle the confidence of our ancestors, not just as a historical reference,” HH Sheikha Mozah continued...

that was so funny! Sigh...i would have loved to see her in a tiara....

But if this was a state visit to a European House, say Denmark or Sweden, then there'd be plenty of pictures of the Royal Family women and their tiaras. Why does the British Royal Family seem to hide their Royalty? If there's a Royal Birthday in Europe, e.g. a 60th, there are tons of pictures of guests coming and going in their finery, but in Britain you're lucky to catch a snatched shot of a guest in a car. If you're going to be Royal, then you should show it!!! That's why the British Royal family seem so lacklustre and frankly boring at the moment. At least with Diana and Fergie it was interesting. Most of the European 'younger' set (now in their 30s and 40s) look happy to play – and look - the part (except for Charlene, who just does not know how to smile). I don't think Royalty should hide away; if they look just like us, what's the point?

The BRF don't see themselves as celebrities the way the Europeans seem to do. They were bitten badly in the 80s and 90s by Diana and Sarah and their antics so the BRF now only promotes the major royals - the Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales (who smiles heaps now whereas he forgot how in the 80s and early 90s) and The Duchess of Cornwall.

There have been reports for a decade or so of the move to make the BRF smaller so showing fewer of them in all their finery fits with that move.

No you shouldn't, the whole point of royalty is mystery.

Diana and Fergie acted like celebrity millionaires who could do what they liked, Fergie especially who stil abuses the fact that she was once a member of the BRF.
Well the BRF don't have a younger set like most Royal Families do, Charles being heir is 61 I believe, whereas most other heirs are around the 40-50 mark.
The BRF are probably seen more than any other royals, seeing as there are more of them.
