It still feels odd to refer to them as the Cambridges but it's good to see them take on a more official role.

It's very great to see the Duchess of Cambridge takes on her 1st duty as a member of the Royal Family, especially it is meeting with the President and First Lady of the United States!
However I have a question, if anyone can help to clarify? I can recall that most Welcoming Ceremony takes place on Horse Guards Parade, while this time, it is taken in the Gardens of Buckingham Palace. Is it because of the security issues for the President and the First Lady are taken more seriously and having it inside the Palace is more safe?

I suspect the reason Kate was not wearing a hat is because she met the Obama's indoors only. HM did not have a hat when she received the Obama's at the entrance to BP, but she had one on for the ceremonial welcome in the garden of BP a few minutes later.

Catherine looks great. I want her dress! I wish I could see her necklace better. Not sure about Mrs. Obama's dress but the couples seemed to enjoy their chat. Nice to see see William and Catherine in a more "official" light. I feel weirdly proud of them
