(deep sigh!)

Just when I thought the royal website had sorted itself out for February, they appear to have posted Princess Royal's engagements for the 10th (yes, early) along with what she did on the 9th. Either that, or she was in 2 places at once!

Weekly update to 12th January, 2015

A relatively busy week with 92 engagements all together. A number of people did multiple events at one engagement by the way as well e.g. Charles had one engagement in which he visited two places, met people and had a briefing but with the way the CC is worded that is only one engagement in his count. The Queen, Charles, Camilla, Andrew and Anne all had these multiple events in one engagement type entries. The Duke of Kent attended the State Funeral, representing The Queen, probably because he was going to be in Germany anyway so no need to send anyone else. Alexandra also undertook a few engagements this week. Of the ‘working royals’ still only William on a ‘duck’ for the year. (For non-cricket lovers – a ‘duck’ in cricket is zero and we are at the beginning of the six weeks of the Cricket World Cup – the biggest sporting event in the world this year I believe – only the Football World Cup and the Olympics can claim to be bigger now. – Go Aussies)

HM The Queen - 22 (10 – up 12 – 7.2%)
HRH The Duke of Edinburgh - 5 (5 – no change – 1.6%)
HRH The Prince of Wales – 75 (48 – up 27 – 24.5%)

FAILURE of British Monarchy Website to UPDATE CC

The weekly failure of the British Monarchy website: 11th February for 26 engagements.

5th February with its total of 27 engagements is now up so those engagements are removed from the ‘missing’ totals.

Still missing this year: 7th, 11th, 13th, 17th, 19th, 20th, 21st, 22nd, 24th, 25th and 26th January for a total of 61 engagements.

Yearly total of missing days and engagements: 12 days on which 87 engagements were carried out.

I do check each week to see if any of the 'missing' days are put up so this is up-to-date as of about 2 minutes ago.

Types of Engagements

This list was developed from the ‘other events’ and ‘other sports’ from last year. They are still there, of course, but this will give a greater range of the types of engagements that the royals undertake.

A note about the 'other events' list. This additions are the items I have identified this week only. Those from last week are in last week's list. At the end of the year if a type appears about 10 times I will add it to the full list but an item that has fewer than 10 will be grouped into the 'other events' list.

Weekly update to 19th January, 2015

A relatively quiet week with only 61 engagements. The Wessex’s were absent from the ‘working roster’ this week, probably because of something to do with the children. Andrew also had a quiet week, which is not unusual in his birthday week as he usually spends that week skiing in Switzerland. The usual suspects, The Queen, Charles, Camilla, Anne and the Duke of Kent carried out most of the engagements. Interestingly Anne has been in Canada but from the press coverage no one would know. She simply doesn’t rate as far as the media are concerned, which accounts for a lot of the negative press for the younger children of the monarch – they don’t ‘sell’ so the press don’t cover them and so the general public don’t see the amount of work they do.

HM The Queen - 32 (22 – up 10 – 8.7%)
HRH The Duke of Edinburgh - 9 (5 – up 4 – 2.5%)
HRH The Prince of Wales – 85 (75 – up 10 – 21.2%)

FAILURE of British Monarchy Website to UPDATE CC

The weekly failure of the British Monarchy website: 13th, 14th, 15th and 18th February for a total of 26 engagements. Thanks Cepe for the updates for these dates.

Still missing this year: 7th, 11th, 13th, 19th, 20th, 21st, 22nd, 24th, 25th, 26th January and 11th February for a total of 87 engagements.

Yearly total of missing days and engagements: 15 days on which 113 engagements were carried out or 30.79% of all engagements recorded in The Times are NOT being reported on the British Monarch Website. The number of days missing in percentage terms is 32% of all days this year or 40% of the days on which official engagements were actually undertaken (there have been 10 days so far on which no engagements have taken place).

This post has been edited because I had misplaced engagements for the 18th January to the 17th January - thanks Cepe for pointing that out.

Can I just re-iterate that these 'missing days' are days that the British Monarchy Website hasn't posted information for.

Thanks to Cepe I do have the information for those days.

FAILURE of British Monarchy Website to UPDATE CC

The weekly failure of the British Monarchy website: NOTHING is now missing – not just for this week but for the year.

I suspect that the British monarch website didn’t like that fact that they were being kept honest – and hopefully thanks to my posts showing what was missing and those of you who have also called them on the missing days this type of post won’t be needed anymore this year … but …

I will certainly still be keeping the records of any missing days and posting them here weekly but hopefully there will be no further need.

Good to hear. I hope this means they have gotten their act together and it isn't just damage control...

No - but I think that having a post each week on the internet showing what is missing certainly didn't do their PR any good.

You contacted them in person - and that would have helped - as it showed them that there were people keeping tabs on them.

Why they have actually caught up this year - who knows - but they have - now I hope they stay that way.

Weekly update to 5th March, 2015

Due to William’s overseas trip and the State Visit this was the busiest week of the year so far with over 100 engagements. Most of the working royals undertook an engagement with Kate, Harry and Alexandra the only regulars who didn’t do so. Obviously the busiest was William who did 37 engagements in 6 days (compared with 49 in 19 days in Australia and New Zealand for instance). These are similar to the numbers his father would do on an overseas tour such as last year’s trip to Canada when Charles did over 40 in 4 days. It is clear that Philip is taking things easier finally as he is rarely doing more than 2 a day and on many days isn’t doing any official engagements. By this time last year the total for the year was 524 while this year it is 543. The following royals are up on their total to 5th March last year: Philip, Charles, Camilla, William, Kate, Harry, Edward, Anne, Duke of Kent, Alexandra.

HM The Queen - 52 (43 – up 11 – 9.57%)
HRH The Duke of Edinburgh - 23 (16 – up 7 – 4.2%)
HRH The Prince of Wales – 101 (92 – up 9 – 18.6%)
HRH The Duchess of Cornwall - 41 (37 – up 4 – 7.6%)
HRH The Duke of Cambridge - 39 (5 – up 34 – 7.2%)
HRH The Duchess of Cambridge – 13 (13 – no change – 2.4%)
HRH Prince Henry of Wales - 7 (7 – no change – 1.3%)
HRH The Duke of York – 34 (27 – up 7 – 6.3%)

HRH The Duke of Gloucester - 16 (13 – up 3 – 2.9%)
HRH The Duchess of Gloucester - 14 (12 – up 2 – 2.6%)

FAILURE of British Monarchy Website to UPDATE CC

The weekly failure of the British Monarchy website: NOTHING is now missing. That had a glitch during the week where they updated the 26th February and then didn’t do another update until the 3rd March but by the 5th March they had put up the missing dates so as of now they are up to date to the 5th March.

Does this mean that Peter Phillips will be included in your league table?
