Wow! 2 days of Ascot and 2 different outfits and HATS for Anne! I have no words!
And what is more, both hats suit her greatly!

Diana is dead. That's Lady Carolyn Warren, sister of the current Earl of Carnavon, and wife of the Queen's racing manager, John Warren. She and Diana were good friends, and, IIRC, Diana was godmother to her eldest child.

A short biography of Lady Carolyn Warren (from The Jockey Club)

Quote:
Lady Carolyn Warren

Lady Carolyn Warren, 43, has had a lifetime involvement in the bloodstock industry, working closely with her late father, Lord Carnarvon, and her husband, bloodstock agent, John Warren.

Following the death of Lord Carnarvon, she and her husband took over the ownership and management of Highclere Stud, which currently stands the stallions Efisio and Dr Fong and has a broodmare band of 18 mares, as well as consigning yearlings, mares and foals for other breeders.

Her initial employment in racing was with Pacemaker Publications, editing the Directory of The Turf prior to moving on to video production, producing and editing stallion advertising for many of the leading stud farms.

A registered owner since 1999, her previous horses include Lingfield Oaks Trial winner Birdie and Tora Bora, as well as the listed placed Tincture, currently in training with Christophe Clement in the USA.

Diana was godmother to Lady Carolyn's son Jakie.

Jose, maybe there are more pictures of others royals attending Royal Ascot as the young members caused more interest than the sweet old lady Queen Mom. I do have several pics, but I'll have to check first if they've been posted before. Here is one from 1987 :

She definitely was, Jose, and you are most welcome

I scanned in some more for you - from 1978, 1979 and 1982 (3+4),
I think the last one is a quite popular one, I saw it in many tribute articles:

You are most welcome Jose and I'm glad you liked the pics!
Today I have some from 1988, none of Queen Mum, but I'll look for more

At least it's nicer than the yellow one and less irritating than Anne's flowers

I did not find much more Sarah pics from 1988, corazon, one with Margaret, one of her hat and another one of bad quality as it's been in the middle of the magazine..

But also one more of Queen Mum, I hope you'll see it, Jose
