Maybe there is the thought that the children would upstage Charles if they had a photo call like the Danish.

It would be even more damaging to Charles' popularity than the princes stories this summer about how they were given no help when their mother died and the late documentary saying the opposite was way too little and way too late. This entire year has been a PR nightmare for Charles and Camilla so seeing them with the children now wouldn't be a good thing at all as it would backfire and rather than being good it would do even more harm in what has to be one of the worst years for Charles in terms of PR and popularity.

Next year there maybe a church service or other event for Charles' 70th birthday and so a chance for him to be seen with maybe George although at 5 he may still be regarded as too young for official events like that.
Are we going to be having another brawl over the Charles, Camilla and Diana wars again? Why bring Diana up in this thread and blame Camilla for keeping Charles away from the grandchildren is just plain stupid and ridiculous.

Iluvbertie does bring up a good point though. Camilla acting or looking like "Grandma Camilla" with the Cambridge kids is just asking for trouble from the press. They're wise to avoid it if you ask me.

Relationships between Members of the British Royal Family

Camilla is in the Cambridge wedding photos, she attended both Christening and is in the photos. She went to the hospital with Charles to see newborn George. Not really going out of the way to avoid it.

That's how it should be. That's how the public expects it to be. I think the issue with Camilla that Iluvbertie was referring to is candid family shots at a more or less private occasion.

Either way, its a fact that Camilla is George and Charlotte and Baby #3's step grandmother and should play an active role in their lives. Their private lives are the times to be grandma and Gan-Gan and such.

Thank you Osipi - that is exactly what I am saying.

It isn't that the Cambridge children aren't seeing Charles AND Camilla but that the Diana fans don't want to think or see Camilla anywhere near Diana's grandchildren and so it is easier for those visits to be done outside the public's gaze.

It is known that Camilla often spends time with her children and grandchildren without Charles, so no reason why Charles couldn't do the same (no clue whether he does or not).

From William's interview earlier this year it was clear that he does not consider Camilla one of his children's grandmothers.

Camilla isn't one of their grandmothers. It doesn't mean that she can't still have her own relationship with them. Does William and Harry think of Laura and Tom as siblings? Probably not.

We're starting to get all hot and bothered about something we actually know nothing about. We have no clue whatsoever what their personal relationships are like in private and that's where its best kept.

Think we should move on here???

Since Meghan isn't a member of the British royal family, I've deleted posts regarding Kate and her relationship with Meghan.

One thing that stood out for me and was verifiable about Harry's relationship with his brother and his sister-in-law happened when W&K&H hosted the Obamas at their home at KP. It was so cute when little George pipes up "Why is Uncle Harry being so quiet?". Gave me the mental picture of Harry getting down and roughhousing and generally having a grand old time with his niece and nephew. One incident but one that shows a closeness. At least in my book.

As far as the closeness of these four people working in public roles in the future, I think the best place to start is actually the monarchy itself. As its been stated when Philip announced his retirement, the emphasis was put on "Team Windsor". Representing the monarchy and the Windsor family actually does cover more ground and gets more done if the team takes on individual events rather than grouping together for one event. Even the Royal Foundation gets more done and more areas covered if individuals go to three places than all three of them go to one. William was busy with things while Harry was in Toronto for the Invictus Games. Harry will go to Denmark this month while William and Kate do a Scandinavian tour (health permitting). Its covering more ground and getting things done.

Harry and William will always be close as brothers. There is no doubt in my mind about that. Closeness is never measured by the time spent together.

Team Windsor rallies to help the Queen as Prince Philip's friends say he's 'stepping down, not sitting down'

they are big boys, I'd hardly say they "need" each other. But I'm surprised that apparently Harry intimated that he didn't know Kate well a few years ago.. when he was supposed to be so close ot William and WIll had been in a relationship with Kate for several years.

Never, ever trust what the media says. The media may have reported that Harry and Kate were actually in a *much* closer relationship than we care to know about. One prime example is this:

Kate Middleton 'marries Prince Harry' on souvenir mug - Telegraph

I love this.

OH! BTW, this mug can be yours if you collect this kind of stuffs.

Harry was interviewed before William and Kate's wedding when he was in the Walking with the Wounded expedition to the North Pole. He says on that doco that he is delighted that the two are engaged but doesn't know Kate very well and is looking forward to getting to know her.
I remember him saying it as if it was yesterday. He was in a beanie and orange snow suit.

The expedition with Walking with the Wounded to the South Pole was in 2013. Two years after Will and Kate were married.

The trek to the North Pole was right before the royal wedding.

well if that's where the stotry came from (I read it on another forum) that's not "the meida" is it? It is direct from Harry.
And to those of you who followed W and Harry back years ago, why does this appear to be the case that he was sayng he didn't know his brothers' long term girlfriend that well? true they don't live literally together, and both woudl have been away for wrok at times, but it seems odd for Har to say that he didn't know Kate that well when she had been living with his brother for years, and he himself was mostly based in the UK and presumably spent time visiting his brother.

Your guess is as good as mine on that question,Denville. Mine is that for several years Harry had his own relationship with Chelsy Davy going, sometimes the brothers (and girlfriends) were literally on different continents (for instance when Harry was in Canada learning to fly Apache helicopters, or in Africa with Chelsy,) for several years William was at Uni in Scotland, sometimes in Wales with Kate, usually the brothers were doing different military training apart. Perhaps, as the years went on Harry and Kate didn't get much quality one on one time to get to know each other, that it was sometimes literally a 'Hello how are you? Bye' situation.

The press asked Freddiie Windsor if he was going to the wedding (he was in Hollywood waiting on his wife) and he said of course

When asked if they ever met before, he said on about 3 different occasions. which seems about right
