I had heard that King Constantine and Queen Anne-Marie were at the funeral. Is this true?
I don't think they attended the funeral. They have been away on a skiing holiday with theri children and grandchildren in Gstaad, Switzerland.

Also, I don't think it's surprising that Camilla attended the funeral service. She has attended several very high profile royal occasions in the past, with the Queen present. Didn't Camilla sit next to Angus or Princess Alexandra at the Prom or Party at the Palace when the Queen celebrated her Jubilee a few years ago? If she was friends with either Angus or with Princess Alexandra then it's only right/fair that she should be able to pay her last respects to him as a grieving friend.

According to the Daily Express, the Queen did not permit Camilla and P. Charles to sit together at the funeral. I think things will be just like this until the two marry. I wish they would make it legal soon.

The Queen,The Duke of Edinburgh,Prince Charles,Camilla,Lady Sarah Chatto,Princess Michael,Lady Gabriella,Duke of York,Earl and Countess of Wessex,Princess Anne.A floral tribute from King Harald and Queen Sonja to Sir Angus also outside The Chapel.

I think Camilla was invited from Princess Alexandra. At the Memorial Service for Princess Margaret in April 2002,Lady Sarah Chatto also invited Camilla.

In these pics, someone criticised that while other Royals looked very sad,Princess Michael of Kent...was she smiling?

Some pics of the funeral.Do you know a small girl there. She looks very sad,she cried.Very sorry for the family of the loss of their beloved husband, father, grandfather.

Lady Helen Taylor has given birth to a baby girl it was announced on Tuesday. The daughter of the Duke and Duchess of Kent who is also the face of fashion label Armani, gave birth to baby Estella, on December 21.

"Mother and baby are doing well and the Duke and Duchess of Kent are delighted with the arrival of their latest grandchild," a family spokeswoman was quoted as saying, adding: “It’s a good bit of family news after the sad loss of Sir Angus.”

The happy announcement came on the heels of the death of Sir Angus Ogilvy, 76 - husband of the Queen’s cousin Princess Alexandra - who passed away on Boxing Day after a long series of cancer-related illnesses. His funeral took place on Wednesday.

Estella is the fourth child for the 40-year-old royal and her art dealer husband Tim, who have been married since 1992. The new bundle of joy is 29th in line to the throne and joins the expanding family as a sister to Columbus, ten, Cassius, eight, and one-year-old daughter Eloise.

It is surprising that so many ppl of the RF are friends with Camilla. Did they not like Diana?

The only royals who are good friends with Camilla are Lady Sarah and Princess Alexandra, even though most of the rest of the royals eventually came to dislike Diana, they haven't all come around the Camilla

According to Hello Magazine, Camilla is the close friend of The Ogilvy family not mean they like or dislike them. But i think The Queen still has not allowed her to be daughter-in-law.

Princess Anne at the funeral.

I've never been a big fan but I have to admit I think Camilla looks incredibly elegant in this picture. I love her black suit and It certainly shows off a very impressive pair of legs!

Were any of the Gloucesters at the funeral? For that matter, were any of the Kents at Princess Alice's funeral?

Not that I'm aware of.

Judging by photographs, it appears that only close family and friends attended. I have seen photographs of Princess Alexandra, Camilla Parker-Bowles, Prince and Princess Michael of Kent, Lord Frederick Windsor, and The Duchess of Kent.

I guess some managed to be friends with both, or have become friends with Camilla in the years following Diana's death.

I read on another board that Camilla was a great support to Princess Alexandra and her family during the final stages of Angus Ogilvy's illness. If this statement is true then it shows Camilla to be a loyal and caring person. The fact that she attended the funeral indicates a close link between Camilla and Princess Alexandra.

I agree.

Also, when it was the Queen's Golden Jubilee in 2002, at the Party at the Palace concert Camilla sat with Alexandra and Angus.

You know I always see Prince Michael of Kent styled that way, but it's always 'Princess Alexandra'. Why isn't she referred to as Princess Alexandra of Kent?

Even the Palace calls her Princess Alexandra. This text is from 'Royal Insight':

"The week's events culminated in National Commemoration Day on 10 July 2005. The day began with a service at Westminster Abbey, attended by The Queen, The Duke of York, The Earl and Countess of Wessex, The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, The Duke of Kent, Prince and Princess Michael of Kent, and Princess Alexandra."

I don't think there is a reason. It's shorter. (But why not Prince and Princess Michael? ).

I think she was referred to as Princess Alexandra of Kent when she was younger. Perhaps they dropped the "of Kent" when she married and they had to start including the "Ogilvy" bit.

Re:

Princess Alexandra's full title is Her Royal Highness, Princess Alexandra, The Hon.Lady Ogilvy

That's how it appears in the court circular. From birth she was HRH Princess Alexandra of Kent, when she married she was HRH Princess Alexandra, The Hon.Mrs Ogilvy. When Angus was made Sir Angus, she became HRH Princess Alexandra, The Hon.Lady Ogilvy.
