Thanks for the updates!
It is great to see Lady Gabriella attending the event. I am not sure why she opted for the monochrome black look though.

I can't open these pics but I saw the Derby ones in Getty Images. PM and the Queen looked like they were having a good laugh together in the Royal Box.

Well, quite big occassion for the Michaels! Wonder if that would be counted for them by Iluvbertie . The Prince was representing the Queen.

Although the commemoration is great, the sculpture is just terrible, awful.

Royal Naval Association (RNA) : The Naval Service Memorial Here is some detailed article about the preparations and order of the ceremony. IMO it's a VERY interesting source of how royalty-attended events are prepared in advance, including planning ceremonial and protocol matters and who is involved in this.

I highly doubt that Prince and Princess Michael represented the Queen. It would be fair to say that it was just a public appearance. The couple did look regal as usual.

They do sometimes officially represent the Queen and this would be the kind of event where they would do it.

Prince Michael of Kent speaks about his secret battle with prostate cancer | Mail Online
Quote:
Prince Michael of Kent still carries out a busy schedule of engagements at the age of 72, but the Queen’s beloved cousin has been fighting a secret health battle.

The grandson of George V underwent surgery for prostate cancer and has been successfully receiving treatment.

Members of the Royal Family are usually reluctant to discuss their health issues, but the Prince has bravely decided to confirm details, in support of the thousands of other sufferers of the disease.
