Why is it comical to blend in with a crowd? Had Princess Michael demanded a special treatment, there would have been an public outcry about her demanding antics.

I bet she didn´t actually blend in with the crowd, I believe she is very tall so she was probably looking down at everyone literally.

Miss Nicholl's article is wrong on a factual level ie the Princess is not 60 but 63. It is also full of conjecture ie the suggestion that this was the first time the Princess had visited the shop and that she was there because of the credit crunch (read the Mail article).

P.S. I am a bit disappointed with the reporter Nathan Kay (in one of the previous posts) who referred to Princess M as Princess Pushy in his headline after admitting in his report that he got on really well with her and liked her. It might be a small point but the Princess takes abuse daily in the papers and I am sure she would have appreciated the omission of this moniker in a report by someone who actually had something positive to say about her.

To be the devil's advocate here, Mr. Russo is trying (in vain!) to cut out gluten and go more natural and organic. Whole Foods is an EXCELLENT store for that. In addition, they carry (here in the US, Oregon in particular) a healthy wine section (oh you KNEW Russo had to check that section out!! :D) --and beer--and they have lots of natural and organic meats. They stock lots of gluten free products and bulk ingredients if you wish to make your own gluten free brownies or what not. I am taking this with a grain of salt that Princess Michael is trying to cut out the crap in her food.

I don't think they are particularly 'high end' either, now if it had been Harrods or Fortnums!:ROFLMAO:

I don´t think Harrods sells Duchy Products :D.

Whole Food Market is known for carrying organic products as well as other items (bread, pastry, spreads, pate) that are 100% natural without artificial preservatives and sweeteners. My personal favourites are carrot cupcakes/mini cakes, shrimp inari, and little cheesecakes. It is the only place in the area I live, where one can buy fresh kefir and figs (my favourite fruit). The prices are more expensive, but my satisfaction with quality compensates for incurring extra expenses. I am not sure whether or not it can be compared with Harrods Food Court known for selling diverse, but often expensive products such as black/red caviar or foie gras.

There is only one WholeFoods store in London, which is on High St Kensington, very close to KP. It is a vary large store (the site of the old Barkers departmental store) and has 4-5 floors. The food is actually quite expensive... substantially more than Waitrose or M&S.

The store is great for vegetarians, the selection under one roof is one of the best in London. They are priced on a par with Waitrose, Harrods and other specialist food shops. It's not 100% organic and the cafe is basic but a good selection spread across the 3 floors none the less.

I have shopped a few times at the WholeFoods store in Kensington and found it to be quite pricey. I usually shop at Waitrose, and found that at WF quite often even quite basic things could be 20-30% more expensive. It is great if you are looking for a treat, or something quite specialised that Waitrose might not carry.

The "Prince Henri racial slur/Prince Charles friendly nickname" has come a full circle because the mass media has decided to rehash the old stories related to Princess Michael's blunders. This is pathetic.
Princess Michael is six-foot-tall. Her Majesty has been said to give her a nickname "Valkyrie" because of her height.

She [Princess Michael] also has said she was probably the first tall person to marry into the clan. (The Queen reportedly has referred to her as "Our Val," a reference to the warrior-like Valkyries, and - sarcastically - as "a bit too grand for" the rest of the royal family.) [1].

Six feet tall...1,80 meters! She's very tall!

I just read an article which states that Princess Michael "is said to be known among fellow members of the Royal family as "our Val", which is short for Valkyrie, the mythical Norse female warrior." Can anyone expand upon what this means? I don't quite understand it. Thanks!
There are many explanations for calling her a Valkyrie. They are, in Norse mythology described as women with "pulled back hair sometimes bearing forth drinking horns and/or an evil skag, (among many).

This article contains some of the meanings contributed to the name.
Valkyrie - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I could not guess why HM might call her Val, or if it is a shortening of Valkyrie, but have to admit that since the rumour was first mentioned, Whenever I listen to Wagners' Ride of the Valkyries, (the beginning of Act III of Die Walkurel), I imagine Marie-Christine in full flight! :D

Princess Michael as Royal Patron

I'm having trouble finding out which charities Princess Michael is patron of. I have only found one called "Sparks". Does anyone know of any others? I checked the British Royals government website but there isn't much information there. Thanks

She does look terrific for her age!:flowers: I have to agree about the hair, though. Especially in the above black-and-white shot, she's skirting dangerously to the crazy-old-lady-with-50-cats look.

Thanks for an update of Princess Michael's activities! It is nice to learn that "The Serpent and The Moon" was tranlsated into Portuguese. Although her hairstyle leaves much to be desired in my personal opinion, she looked great.
