Yes, I know it's from the official web site but they are really bad for playing down the Scottish side of things. They don't like the fact that Scotland is the older monarchy (Founded in 498) so they just tend to ignore us. During the Queen's golden jubilee they listed "British" monarchs who had reigned for 50 years or more. They completly ingnored the first "real" British monarch, James VI, who had reigned for 59 years. They also listed British Queen regnants. They included Elizabeth I of England (nasty woman) who wasn't a British Queen and ingnored Queen Margaret and Queen Mary of Scots. It's no use trying to complain because they just ignore you and don't even have the decency to reply.

That's pretty sad. Usually websites that are trying to be correct will at least acknowledge people who contact them about matters of fact.

i heard that there's a limit on Garter orders. there could only a fixed number of them. so if nobody who owned the Garter order died, there could be no new Knight/Lady of Garter

Yes, the Garter is a very exclusive Order, limited to the Sovereign and 25 members. There can be extras, but these are members of the Royal Family and foreign Monarchs. So someone who aspires to the Garter must wait for a vacancy.

Ive also wondered why the Duke of York isnt a member The Earl of Wessex isnt either as far as I Know Wonder who will be the next member of the family to get it :)

Well, since the Duke of Gloucester and Princess Alexandra, who have been loya and hard-working royals for decades, have only just received the Garter, it's possible that the Queen thinks Andrew and Edward haven't "paid their dues" yet.

Sorry for my ignorance, but what do those letters at the end mean?, I know KG is Knight of the Garter but what about the others?
His Royal Highness the Earl of Wessex KG KCVO ADC (P)
And what about the PoW being in the Knights and Ladies Company unlike his father and siblings who are all in the Royal Knights and Ladies?
And can members of the church (Bishops, Priests and Such) become a member of the Order?

KCVO is a Knight Commander of the Royal Victorian Order

ADC (P) is a Personal Aide De Campe to Her Majesty The Queen.

Bishops etc. can become a knight of an order but do not recieve the accolade (ie Sir) instead they append the letters to their name. e.g. His Grace The Archbishop of York, KCVO

Any Prince of Wales is automatically a Knight of the Garter. and according to the order's statutes and convention he is a Knight Companion and not one of the supernumerary knights (Royal Knights). However, he does not count as one of
