Re:

I wonder why Mette Marit did. Maybe she likes Camilla and wanted to show it via a curtsey. Who knows?

*By the Way - try and view that video - it's brilliant and really makes you proud of the way we do things in Britain.*

Maybe the curtsey was a mark of respect, as Camilla is so much older than MM. For the British Royal Family it's a good opportunity to establish Camilla as the future queen, whatever they may say about it.

I was looking through all the wonderful pictures posted here. Thank you to all who have done this. I appreciate it very much. I was wondering though why would Cherie Blair wear a pants suit to greet the Norwegian Royals??? It seemed a litttle disrespectful as the Queen and Crown Princess were dressed in dresses, hats , gloves and the whole ensemble. What do you think?

I will say MM was unsure of herself, and how to do according to the official protocoll, "the rules of the game". MM is a Royal Higness and Crown Princess, and Camilla a Duchess. Official it was not correct with "the curtsey" . It would have been otherwise if everything was private. But both Camilla an MM seems to like eachother well so I presume it doesn't matter. ( I assume both the Brittish and Norwegian Royal courts will have to forward some information to MM and Camilla later on...)!

I think it was probably intentionally disrespectful. The Blairs don't seem to think monarchies are worth having.

A lot of nice photos! Just noticed that King Harald wore a Navy galla uniform to the banquett yesterday. I can't remember seeing him in Navy uniforms at all (well, apart from his sailing gear, but that is sports clothes :) ). I know he got his military training in the Army, and he more or less always wear a Army galla uniform to such grand doos. Could it be to honour Prince Phillip and Prince Charles, as they are, as far as I understand, Navy guys?
I cannot understand whether King Harald wore the British or Norwegian uniform... Does anyone know?

Camilla is also a crown princess and royal highness; she just isn't using the title in her day-to-day life on account of recent history. In reality, and as far as the other royal families are concerned, she's HRH The Princess of Wales, and Mette-Marit was probably just acknowledging that.

I found pictures from AFP ( posted earlier ) but now without watermark:)

Disrespectful politicians

Well, I agree it was not respectful at all. But it wasn't worse then what one could expect from any politician. Norwegian politicians are doing worse "at home". (I'm sorry to say...) :(

TRH Charles and Camilla?

I can see in some of the excellent Brittish websites about Royals some of them give the couple title TRH Charles and Camilla, but in the Royal courts official site one can read this:

"After the wedding, Mrs Parker Bowles became known as HRH The Duchess of Cornwall. When The Prince of Wales accedes to the throne, she will be known as HRH The Princess Consort".

Isn't HRH Crown Princess XX "above" HRH The Duchess of XX when we speak about official protocolls? I'm just asking - no offending!

My friend Cecca e-mailed me some photos from the news on TV2 today:

Yes, it is, but there's a difference between being something and being known as something. She IS Princess of Wales; she's KNOWN by one of her lesser titles. The fact that people refer to her as Duchess of Cornwall doesn't alter the fact that she's Princess of Wales.

I was just wondering if there is a picture of the Crown Princess curtsying, it just seems from the pictures posted she bent her knee because she is taller then the Duchess.

This may have been posted already but where are the Norwegian Royals staying? I know they stayed on their yacht/boat the night before the official visit started, are they staying at Buckingham Palace now?

Camilla and Mette-Marit look very friendly which is a nice thing.

Tonights gala from Aapimage and aftenposten
The Gloucesters were also present
