British Royal Family Engagements 2017

If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
If they meant Prince Harry and The Duke of Cambridge then it would be the other way round.

The Duke of Cambridge takes precedence and so would come first.

I really think whoever is in charge of that website doesn't care at all about the way it is producing information - so long as there are lots of lovely pictures it is fine but try to find any real information - don't trust it.

It used to be so good but now is a mish-mash designed to hide information from the public rather than inform I think.

By the way folks - there will be a full update either later today or tomorrow but I have to get ready to return to work tomorrow after nearly five weeks off (unfortunately I had to take time off to be with my terminally ill dog - yes dog - whom I had to put down last week - my apologies if some of my posts have seemed off in this time but he was my world and only 8.5 years old. Even the vets don't know why he had cancer as he was 'too young' according to the three of them I have spoken too about him).

They are both going, it has already been announced in other places. But one would never know from that entry! Pathetic!

Saying goodbye to a beloved fur baby perhaps one of the hardest things we have to do as human beings. Although the mind knows that the step you take is the right one, the heart still aches and wishes it hadn't had to be so. I know your pain as we went through the same thing with our beloved Dawg last November. There is still a big, empty hole in our hearts and our home.

You're right. It would have been correct to put The Duke of Cambridge before his brother when announcing who will attend. They really need to get someone on board that has the British monarchy at heart and strives to actually present the information that people are looking for in a more timely manner and a more accessible way to find it.

:previous: :ROFLMAO:

Whomever was in charge of posting that blooper seriously needs to focus on what they're supposed to be doing. Actually, I find it quite inexcusable. I wonder how long its going to be before someone actually spots the mistake. :D+

My guess is that they meant Prince Harry and The Duke of Cambridge.

The info is being pulled down from their database, so its alphabetical.

Prince Harry,
The Duke of Cambridge.

The Gloucesters have a couple of joint engagements coming up and the Duchess comes before the Duke. :ermm:

Prince Harry is used in the diary, however in the CC he is Prince Henry of Wales.

Weekly Update to 20th April, 2017

These figures will be still inaccurate as the online CC didn’t update between the 17th – 27th February. Amongst the missing engagements is the reception that most of the royal attended including Eugenie which is why she isn’t yet listed as undertaking an official duty as she hasn’t yet appeared in the CC at all with that engagement missing. I have read elsewhere that there were 95 engagements on these missing days - who knows they may update one day.

The weekly failure of the British Monarchy website: 14th, 15th, 16th and 17th April (Easter Long weekend)

No engagements from earlier in the year: 2nd, 4th, 7th, 14th, 21st, and 28th January, 2017, 11th, 17th, 18th, 19th, 20th, 21st, 22nd, 23rd, 24th, 25th, 26th, 27th February and 19th and 26th March, 2017

Types of Engagements to 20th April, 2017

NOTE: If you add up the totals from this section they will invariably be more than the weekly and yearly totals because of the way engagements are described e.g. HM ‘received and invested an individual’ on the 3rd January which is why she has ONE engagement but there are two items listed here. I do NOT count ‘where received by the Lord Lt or someone else when there is more to the engagement unless it is at the start of an official visit overseas e.g. Anne was ‘received by the Deputy Lt of Oxfordshire for her engagement but that was simply a handshake before entering the conference type thing as opposed to a formal start to a tour such as we saw last year when Charles and Camilla visited the Middle East.

Specific Charities or Organisations Supported via an Official Engagement to 20th April, 2017 – Part A

It should be noted that the event/s involving a charity/organization may or may not be carried out by the patron, president etc. It should also be noted that sometimes an event is related to two or more charities or organisations and I have recorded all of them here. Both Camilla and Andrew attended such events during this past week.

I have changed ‘Royal Colonel’ to Honourary Military Appointment because Camilla’s engagement this week wasn’t as a ‘Royal Colonel’ but as an Honourary Appointment so I put them all together rather than split them.

FAILURE of British Monarchy Website to UPDATE CC

The weekly failure of the British Monarchy website: NONE

No engagements from earlier in the year: 2nd, 4th, 7th, 14th, 21st, and 28th January, 2017, 11th, 17th, 18th, 19th, 20th, 21st, 22nd, 23rd, 24th, 25th, 26th, 27th February and 19th, 26th March, 14th, 15th, 16th and 17th April (Easter Long weekend) 2017

Types of Engagements to 27th April, 2017

Specific Charities or Organisations Supported via an Official Engagement to 27th April, 2017 – Part A

Weekly Update to 4th May, 2017

Sorry for the delay with this update but with the problems I was having last week I didn’t put up the figures. This week will see two separate sets updates – the 4th and 11th May.

There was no CC for the 2nd May which is surprising as Andrew was in the United States and I seem to have come across information that he attended a Summit there. He also attended it on the 3rd May so why he wasn’t recorded as being there on both days I don’t know. Or maybe … the other sources have incorrect dates and he did only attend one day and thus did have the 2nd May off along with the rest of the family.

Comparison with last year – 1154-1046=108 fewer this year in comparison to last year. The 95 isn’t my figure but was calculated by someone else so I am not sure how it would stack up to my figures.

Royal Palaces where Events Occurred to 4th May, 2017

NB This is a count of number of engagements not number of royals who attended an engagement at the palace so an engagement where 2 royals attended the same event is counted here as one engagement at that venue.

There were definitely engagements on May 2nd. Besides Andrew, Sophie was in Estonia and had at least 3 separate engagements, including a meeting with the Prime Minister and a dinner with the President. They put up photos on the royal family official website and all.

Once again the CC has failed. I can't add engagements when the CC doesn't update online and so I will add that to the missing dates in February 17th - 27th and 3rd May on which we know there were engagements but which the online CC doesn't deign are important enough to put up.

Weekly Update to 11th May, 2017

Hopefully will get back to the regular routine this week. Sorry for the delays but other things, such as family, have had to take priority over recent days.

Year to Date Total – 1146 (1046 – up 100)

Comparison with last year – 1249-1146=103 fewer this year in comparison to last year. NB With no updates from the 17th – 27th February this appears to be out by 95 but that is what they are recording so that is what it is – down 103 to this point of the year compared to how many were done last year. The 95 isn’t my figure but was calculated by someone else so I am not sure how it would stack up to my figures.

FAILURE of British Monarchy Website to UPDATE CC

The weekly failure of the British Monarchy website: NONE

No engagements from earlier in the year: 2nd, 4th, 7th, 14th, 21st, and 28th January, 2017, 11th, 17th, 18th, 19th, 20th, 21st, 22nd, 23rd, 24th, 25th, 26th, 27th February and 19th, 26th March, 14th, 15th, 16th and 17th April (Easter Long weekend), 2nd May, 2017

Those in the extra large type are dates on which engagements took place but the online website hasn’t bothered putting them up.

Types of Engagements to 11th May, 2017

Specific Charities or Organisations Supported via an Official Engagement to 11th May, 2017 – Part A
