FAILURE of British Monarchy Website to UPDATE CC

The weekly failure of the British Monarchy website: 30th June, 2016. This was the 100th anniversary of the Battle of the Somme for which a number of members of the royal family attended events (both on the 30th June and 1st July). If my fading memory serves correctly William, Kate and Harry went to France on the 30th June but the CC says that there were no engagements on that day at all.

Missing dates from earlier in the year: NONE (none up to the end 28th April according to the former online Times but … dates since then for which I can’t be sure will be listed from now on – it is possible that there were no engagements that day but I don’t have the back-up information any more). Nothing listed for 30th April, 19th June.

The entire week from 30th June – 6th July is missing. CORRECTION - IT IS UPDATES YIPPEE - but it means I have to update the week to the 30th June to include this information - please wait for these posts to be updated as I put in the 30th to my spreadsheet.

Normally when a royal leaves or returns from overseas that is noted in the CC. Andrew’s trip was still underway on the 29th June and with no update for the 30th June it is possible that he was either still overseas and doing things or he returned to the UK on the 30th June. Andrew did return on the 30th June as I found out when they finally updated the CC for the missing week.

Weekly update to 7th July, 2016

A very busy week with 153 engagements. Prior to the update that happened earlier this week this means they were actually missing 151 engagements all up and the busiest week of the year generally (Holyroodhouse week and Charles and Camilla’s visit to Wales). This also included the end of Anne’s visit to Canada and the rest of the Somme Commemorations at which Charles, Camilla, William, Kate, Harry, Richard and Birgitte represented the BRF.

If there are figures that don’t ‘gel’ from last week to this week it is because I didn’t correct my original copy when I finally had the figures for 30th June but these figures are now my figures to 7th July, 2016.

Weekly update to 14th July, 2016

This week the family were slowing down with only 97 engagements, including one for Eugenie, when she attended a reception with The Queen and other members of the family.

This also included the final of Wimbledon at which the only royals who were there officially were the Duke of Kent and the Duchess of Gloucester. This is not unusual. We often see a number of the royals attend Wimbledon but the Duke of Kent and the Duchess of Gloucester are usually the only ones who are mentioned in the CC. This the same as Ascot where only The Queen and Philip attend officially.

HM The Queen – 202 (188 – up 14 – 8.8%)

Weekly update to 21st July, 2016

The family are definitely slowing down as they prepare for their annual summer holidays with only 82 engagements this week. Most of 14 done by The Queen were related to the change in the Prime Ministership which led to a number of ‘audiences’ and two ‘council’ meetings to swear in a number of new Privy Councillors.

The Duchess of Gloucester spent three days overseas for the Davis Cup tennis which involved her having six engagements away from Britain.

Weekly update to 28th July, 2016

With only 40 engagements this week, including the Gloucester’s visit to Northern Ireland it seems that the family are starting their summer holidays.

August is always the lowest month in terms of number of duties undertaken but this year they will be bloated compared to average due to the Olympics as Anne will add quite a number to her tally for the IOC Sessions and the Games themselves.

Weekly update to 4th August, 2016

There were 10 engagements this week and 6 of those were for Anne and her position as an IOC member – her arrival in Brazil, the three days of the IOC Sessions, being ‘received by’ on arrival, a formal dinner and a reception.

Holiday time means a number of royals may actually have no engagements for the entire month of August.

Nothing has been updated for September. 1st and 2nd were when William and Kate went to Cornwall and the Scilly Islands so there should be something for those two days at least but as of today - 8th September there is nothing for September at all.

Weekly update to 11th August, 2016

A slightly busier week as Anne went to the Olympics and was accompanied by Tim.

Philip also spent some time on the Isle of Wight and even formally ‘visited’ Osbourne House. I often wonder, when one of the royals visits a place like this – that an older family member would remember as a ‘family home’ and for Philip’s mother it would have been a ‘gan-gan’s home’ and she would probably have had some wonderful memories to share with her son of this as a place where she had happy childhood memories (especially after he married Elizabeth).

FAILURE of British Monarchy Website to UPDATE CC

The weekly failure of the British Monarchy website: NONE

Missing dates from earlier in the year: NONE (none up to the end 28th April according to the former online Times but … dates since then for which I can’t be sure will be listed from now on – it is possible that there were no engagements that day but I don’t have the back-up information any more).

Nothing listed for 30th April, 19th June, 30th July, 31st July, 2016

Nothing list at all for September. Today is the 9th September so they are now at least missing the last 8 days – days on which William, Kate, Charles and Camilla at least have carried out official engagements.
